Schiavo father: 'Down to her last hours'
CNN ^ | March 25, 2005

PINELLAS PARK, Florida (CNN) -- The father of Terri Schiavo, the severely brain-damaged woman whose feeding tube was removed a week ago, said Friday his daughter is "down to her last hours."

Bob Schindler, Schiavo's father, said, "Terri is weakening. ... Something has to be done, and has to be done quick."

Schindler said the family's hopes lie with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia, which is hearing -- for the second time this week -- an appeal claiming Schiavo's due process rights have been violated.

Schiavo is in her seventh day without food or water since Pinellas County Circuit Judge George Greer ordered the tube removed for the third time.

The case is again in the federal appeals court, where a three-judge panel will rule on the motion filed by attorneys for Schiavo's parents.

If 60 was a kind of upper limit, then you could have automatically taken care of that by being a rock star.

What is of great concern is the admission of hearsay by Judge Greer to back their belief that Terri's will is death.

Who are the people that provided this hearsay? Michael Schiavo (seven years after the incident mind you), Michael Schiavo's brother and Michael Schaiavo's sister.

This is the evidence that condemned this woman to death. All the other court rulings have merely looked for procedural errors. None has addressed the faultiness of allowing this as evidence in the first place.

From a judicial perspective that answers the secular need of people if they would open their eyes.

They won't. They actually robotically parrot that death is Terri's will.

The culture of death is with us. In that regard, the comparison to Nazi Germany is appropriate.

The great earthquake that destroyed Anchorage was a Good Friday full moon, wasn't it?

Correct. The Exxon Valdez happened on Good Friday 1989 as well.

Good day for Alaskans to stay home and play with tin foil!

Okay, look. Some of you people are getting perilously close to blasphemy.

New word [to me anyway]: biopolitics has been replaced with thanatopolitics.

This morning I was listening to my favorites play list on IPOd and realized every singer was dead!! Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, some blues singers.

Does that mean I am old. I need some new young singers to listen to.

I believe the law in Florida allows hearsay testimony in these "patient intent" deliberations. I've read that it was changed to allow such testimony, in the late 1990s.

I am sorry, perhaps I'll have mercy on Michael Schiavo.

-----
Don't be sorry. I told my wife the other day and I still feel this way...If I were Terri's father, I'd shoot the SOB right between the eyes the first chance I got. And I'm not sorry one solitary bit. Of course, I'm not her father, so this is not a threat to M(F)S. No one would do that to my little girl and get away with it....NO ONE!!!!!!

Can't do that. Got a show tonight. Beauty and the Beast. Concerns the origination of the sovereign power of the State in a cute, Disney style.
