How many policies and taxes across this country have been mandated by the branch least accountable to the people? What taxes have the judiciary mandated? Not trying to dispute you; just curious.
To: rellimpank; StoneColdTaxHater
FYI- He's moved on to talking about Hillary Rodham Rodham.

I was thinking this morning how I never could see how the Germans accepted what Hitler was doing, and seeing polling in this country on this issue, I better understand how Adolf pulled it off. Daunting to ponder the socialist monsters in our midst who try to paint conservatives as Nazi's.

You are right.
So many who call themselves conservative or libertarian are content to allow the judiciary unlimited powers--even over the lives of Americans.

"The only good thing about the situtation that it exposed the judicary in the way it totaly got out of control. Please don't flame me on this."
and WHO it is that finds this acceptable.
To: KevinDavis
No flaming. You're right. If anything good comes out of this, it will be reining in the judiciary.
I'm not sure that's really going to happen, though.

The fortunate thing about cached pages is I have left a "digital trail" about where my beliefs about the divinity of man. When Rush read Podheretz(?) column it was like hearing my own words interpreted or being influential. That being said, Mrs. Schiavo's body has become a platform for the culture of death and a feeding ground for the less than pure on the Randall Terryvolk. Had Gov. Bush preemptively had her euthanized to prevent her suffering it would have prevented the tick-tock of a death watch.
Beside the point Rush will contain to maintain his air of moral superiority and refuse to admit it's not about life in his sense. Walking down his road of thought, he's on the side of those who would amputate until nothing would remain but her head.

Rush now talking about the gay gene and parents being able to choose sex of child.
Now saying gene pool choice and gay gene discovery will turn liberals into prolifers.....since now we can "do away with" those we deem less than viable.

I've never thought of Rush as having an 'air of moral superiority'. I think he uses conservative ideas to talk about what is considered right and wrong. With Rush, it's not personal. He rarely talks about his personal life, except for his usual (and time-honored) jokes having to do wtih his talent on loan from God. That's his schtick and he's been doing it for YEARS.
I've always thought that those who think Rush claims moral superiority are the ones who are a little nervous about perhaps being inferior in that department? JMHO

As mentioned by Rush,
Barbara Bush: Hillary Will Lose In '08
One former first lady is offering predictions about another.
Barbara Bush said former first lady, and current senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton will be the Democratic candidate for president in 2008.
But Sen. Clinton won't be the nation's first female president, at least not according to Mrs. Bush.
Mrs. Bush, 79, said Clinton will lose in the next election.
Mrs. Bush also predicted Condoleezza Rice won't run for president in the next election.
Mrs. Bush spoke to high school and college students in Modesto, Calif. She told them she never dreamed she'd be the wife of one president and the mother of another.
As for the current chief executive, his mother jokes that when he was a boy, she "just hoped he'd grow up."
You gotta love her.

I think there was a case in which a court demanded a tax increase so schools can be funded.

Walking down his road of thought, he's on the side of those who would amputate until nothing would remain but her head. I've seen this type of reference (about amputation) several times during the past few days on FR. I'm not flaming you here, nor have I come to a firm conclusion my self. However, where do we draw the line. If a person loses one limb we keep them alive; if two we "let" them die? By this logic shouldn't paralyzed people be "allowed" to die? This is a very slippery slope I think. When quality of life considerations become our criteria we are on dangerous ground imo.
To: KevinDavis
Now that you mention, I think I remember that as well. Thanks.

The court issue is the only reason why I will never ever vote for a Democrat. Yes the GOP has some flaws, but no one is perfect.

Well then you'd better get yourself to a deserted island because as far as I'm concerned we are never going to stop talking of what they are doing to this helpless human being. If we stop talking or stop doing we are no better than these animals.
To: sola_fide
I don't understand the amputation thing. This is the first I've heard it- what exactly has been said? Thanks

That is correct. They forced a tax increase for new schools and fancy equipment and it did nothing for the test scores.

Rush saying he wanted to stop talking about the Terri Schiavo thing all week and had prepared multiple stacks of stuff, but all the uninformed callers were good reason to keep talking about it.
