This has not been a simple dehydration killing, but one that was accelerated with drugs to have it go quickly.
When I read that her skin was splitting open on the 3rd day I was alarmed, because it was way too early for that to have happened without assistance from medication.
"From various sources I have read that they loaded her up with diuretics and laxatives before and as they pulled the tube. That they used an ear patch to deliver a drug which would further dehydrate her."
Dear Lord, how in the name of anything that is decent and good, how in the name of GOD can these nurses participate in this!!!! I am a nurse. I have worked in long term care, with patients I, and everyone, knew could not and would not survive. We CARED for these folks, we did not participate in murder. If I had been asked to do anything that would have harmed my residents, I would have protested, charted it, and LEFT that facility. And no, I am not rich, and I do need my paychecks, but Good God in heaven, this is horrible and cruel.......and MURDER.

I'm directing this question to you since you seem to know a lot about this subject of "end-of-life" choices. Do you know a website that keeps an eye on the law in different states or shows how far the "right to die" has progressed? There is little more I can do to help Terri, but I would like to be able to ensure this cannot happen in my state.
Thank you for your help.
