I have been awash in tears, as have many here, and I ache for the Schindler's.
I look to your prayers for comfort as they are what so many of us want to ask of our Father......
pegita...Terri has brought out the worst and the best of people. It has been something I will never ever forget.
Just as cruel was his buddy in the federal court. Telling the Schindlers to go home to 'eat and wait.'
Yes, we may forget a temporary tax rebate check or the capture of a couple of terrorists, but we will never forget the horrors inflicted on this defenseless woman in Pinellas Co., FL. When I vote in 2006 and 2008, I will say to myself: "This vote was for you, Terri."
Amen. As Dickens understood the "best" and the "worst" of times, so has Terri's plight separated those who are compassionate from those who "talk compassion."
So long we have prayed for this mother's child ... we cannot even begin to remember the number of months and years. We've longed that she be returned to the safety of her family. We looked for that one Judge who would rule righteously and well, having so long denied justice to this beleaguered family. We've prayed for her return from the brink of death ... we've prayed for the repentance of those who hold sway over her life. Yet our eyes see nothing but the agonizing death of our beloved friend. It is now, O Lord, that we look up to You in faith, for we are to believe what our eyes cannot see ... that You are at work in the affairs of men and that You will is good and perfect. You are God ... it cannot be otherwise.
Carry us through the days ahead, O God, for we need the Presence of the Comforter ... we need the Light of the Holy Spirit to reveal what is hidden, what must be dealt with, what must be set aside if we are to be used of You. Forgive us, Almighty God, for we have strayed from Your Word ...
And what does the Lord require of thee, O man ... but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God. Micah 6:8
Restore unto us the joy of our salvation, that we may go forth to tend to the least of these, our brethren. In the Name of Jesus, may it be thus, O God, may it be thus ... Amen
