LOS ANGELES - Actor Tom Sizemore was sentenced Thursday to nearly two years in jail for repeatedly failing drug tests while on probation, but he was allowed to remain free while he appeals a domestic violence conviction.
Sizemore, 43, failed seven drug tests, admitted methamphetamine use twice and failed to show up for further testing while on probation for a 2003 domestic violence conviction involving his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, prosecutor Sean Carney said last month.
Sizemore sobbed, gestured and begged for another chance as he delivered a rambling speech before being sentenced by Superior Court Judge Antonio Barreto Jr.
He pleaded with the judge for leniency, saying he had broken his parents' hearts and felt like a 12-year-old child. Sizemore also said he was "engaged in a struggle right now to regain the better part of who I am ... I never thought I had this disease."
"I assure Your Honor that I'm not acting now. I'm not acting, I'm begging, I'm beseeching you. I can't imagine my future without performing."
Sizemore was back in court later Thursday for a hearing in a felony conviction of methamphetamine possession.
He faces referral to an intensive drug treatment program under a voter-approved state initiative that requires first- and second-time nonviolent drug offenders to be sent for treatment instead of prison. If Sizemore refuses the treatment, he could face up to two years in state prison.
Sizemore is best known for his roles in "Saving Private Ryan" (1998) and "Black Hawk Down" (2001).

I loved him in "Point Break".
He doesn't have to beg or beseech. Apparently, he's been given a get out of jail card, and only has to go to rehab.

I think my favorites with him are Saving Private Ryan, and Heat.

I like his work as an actor. Didn't he just start up a new TV show before this all came down. I remembered I liked it... whatever it was.
Is this the "Fake Penis" Tom Sizemore?
What was he thinking dating Heidi Fleiss anyways?
When I read the headline, I thought they were referring to the old St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Ted Sizemore. Whew, glad it's just another actor.
Too bad he has to be a junkie and a psycho, because I liked him as an actor in things like Saving Private Ryan.
Good luck Tom, I think he is one of the best actors around. I can't imagine how good he could be if he got his act together (no pun intended).
He wasn't in Point Break.
maybe he loved him for NOT being in Point Break :)
Yes he was, he was the undercover cop that worked with keanu reeves character.
I believe this smile, smirk, grimace or whatever had something to do with his teeth. He gave an interview to Geraldo a week ago regarding his upcoming sentencing and he was rather odd at that time (and I like his acting). When Geraldo questioned him about drug use, he showed his teeth the same way and said something to the effect that his teeth would show he wasn't using drugs. None of it made any sense at all but Geraldo was very gentle with him. He also was quite emotional toward the end of the interview.
Though I'm sure he would prefer to forget it, he was Deets ;)
Methamphetamine addict - from what I've read that stuff is about as addictive as it gets - on a level with crack.
I understand it is real nasty stuff.
Seems like all he has to do is go to rehab and he is a free man.
I idea of rehab might not seem too appealing but he would be better off having gone through it than not.
