Wrong. Ask Mark Levin who patiently explained this time and time again when liberals wanted Clinton to go over then Governor Bush's head and pardon Karla Faye Tucker.
My guess is also that Jeb Bush is in trouble.
He looks like a groveling subservient girly-man, giving in to this judge, this lowly-placed judge, and letting a woman die in the torture of starvation.
While the 'manly' Miss Reno just sent down armed men and did what she liked.
This isn't going to go over well and it's not just emotion.
People are tired of the servile Republicans. Jeb not only let this happen, but where were the protests when Janet Reno did her fireball thing?
They refuse to do anything bold themselves and utter little protest (mere whines) when Democrats do as they like. W. did nothing about Clintons scandalous pardons, etc. etc. Pubbies like being 'gentlemen'.
I rarely listen to Savage but he did say one thing I liked "You gotta learn to street-fight with these vermin".
They can't street-fight, they lack all conviction, and the vermin are swarming over the hen-coop.
Thank goodness somebody likes this thread. I view this as a backup plan because IF Jeb has the law on his side then he'll never be charged with any crime.
Well if you're not sure, then why do you want her to die?
Sorry, not biting.
I agree with you. People are already asking how Janet Reno's Justice Dept. could have stormed into Elian Gonzales' "safe house" in Miami, seized the child and sent him back to (effectively) Castro..........but the Governor of Florida can't send Florida State Troopers into the hospice to save Terri Schaivo's life!
The perception is that there is still a little time, and that Jeb Bush still has options.........if he would only have the courage to use them. That's the perception. I don't know if it is the reality of Jeb's dilemma or not.
I've read a lot on it, too. von Stauffenberg is my hero
apropos this issue: he had a DUTY to try to oust Hitler, if possible.
#62 is an excellent post. I'm tired from watching this national disgrace unfold and I need to get some fresh air, but I'll reply to you later about your post. ;-)
Boldness is all, and the Democrats know it.
Other than being nearly treasonous and treacherous and elitist, they know perfectly well a bold stroke carried out with audacity gets you by every time.
Look at Ward Churchill. He may have been caught gloating over the incineration of ordinary, innocent Americans, and plagarism, and violent assault, but he knows the drill; stand up, yell back, make wild demands, and by God you'll come out smelling like a rose.
Venting. Venting. Ventin.
No. He can only exercise his power to grant relief to federal charges and/or convictions. The power to pardon some of a state crime is the sole perogative of that state.
Look this isn't a court here and you're not on trial. I don't really care that much what you think, but I'm trying to understand your position. Are you saying you're not sure she's really dead but you want them to remove her source of food and water?
Good article. Jeb has resigned himself to do nothing more.
Clinton pardoned Marc Rich. Was Rich ever convincted or was he just facing charges?
The only chance Terri has to survive is if the governor and the president stand up and take action.I was happy to hear that they were getting involved last week but now as Terri continues to starve to death it looks like nothing but political grandstanding. The right thing is to save her life whether it's politically beneficial or not.
"the worst is all the little obedient functionaries withholding water and food, doing as they are told."
This toadying is permitting the murder to procede apace. It wouldn't take many of them to refuse before it would have a big impact!
When Clinton issued an exec. order to put abortion in military hospitals, the military OBs refused!! Just said no, we don't do abortions. Consequence of defying POTUS? ZERO.
What are they afraid of -- esp. the police. Their pensions? I hope someone is witnessing to them , , ,
I wish folks would think before writing and posting this stuff."
President Clinton pardoned Mel Reynolds, who was convicted on sex charges by the state of Illinois in Aug. 1995. (Prosecutor: Cook County State's Attorney Jack O'Malley.)
To my knowledge, no federal charges were ever brought in the case.
No kidding, talk about a constitutional crisis! Jeez....
The democrats are praying that the whack jobs get their way and go crazy like this. It would destroy the republican party and put the democrat party firmly back in power for a generation!
