I wonder if Prince Albert will have to abdicate in favor of a sister with children.

I seem to remember something about the fact that if there is no offspring of the ruling prince, the whole country, slot machines, roulette wheels and all, reverts back to the control of France.

At last, France could conquer a country, and without firing a shot.

Jackpot!

Or, the people of Monaco could get angry and toss a couple of roulette wheels at the French, who would then surrender...;)

In 2002, the constitution was revised to allow the unmarried Albert to succeed his father, despite his lack of heirs.

If he has no heirs, the succession then can fall to one of his sister's children, probably Caroline's eldest son.

True, but Albert could adopt his nephew, Caroline's son, and name him successor, or Rainer could name Caroline his successor. She has four children.

Then as last resort, there is Stephanie. She has two or three kids too. No chance Monaco will be reverting to France any time soon.
