Thanks to Lucianne for sending her readers over to check out Rocket Man's reporting on "the GOP talking points memo" with the notation that "ABC picks up where CBS left off."
The American Spectator's Washington Prowler has picked up the scent and interviewed Republican Senate staffers: "Dirty Democrat pool." The Prowler reports: "Republican leadership staffers now believe the document was generated out of the Democratic opposition research office set up recently by Sen. Harry Reid, and distributed to some Democratic Senate staffers claiming it was a GOP document, in the hope -- or more likely expectation -- that it would then be leaked by those Democrats to reporters." The Prowler ends with a loose thread hanging between the office of Senator Mel Martinez and the memorandum prepard by the Traditional Values Coalition.
Michelle Malkin asks: "Did the MSM learn nothing from Rathergate?" Answer: Yes. The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz played a key role in keeping the pressure on CBS to assure that its stonewall was not the last word on the Sixty Minutes II Texas Air National Guard story. Given the involvement of the Washinton Post itself in propagating this particular story, Kurtz is highly unlikely to reprise his Rathergate role. Are there any takers out there among the MSM folks who do this for a living?

I predicted yesterday that this was a forgery.
They just DO NOT learn, do they?
Good to see Freepers posting Powerline. Like Malkin, they are tireless advocates for truth.
Ping!
[My post from a couple of minutes ago on another thread about this]:Try to ignore the spelling. ABC first reported the memo as a bombshell that disclosed Republican strategy. Now it says that it the memo "discussed a republican bill" and was "distributed to [some] repulbican senators." Whatever ABC may think of the "politics of the Shivo [sic] case," the network admits that it knows nothing about who authored and distributed the memo.
Well, then, that makes them LIARS doesn't it?
But who's surprised by this? Certainly not me.
They're trying to keep up with the King of Liars!
The guy that thinks that clintoon's "honest", but who
thinks that Bush is not.
Media Research Center:
Dan Rather on Bill Clinton:
"I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "I want to ask you flat out, do you think President Clintons an honest man?"
Rather: "Yes, I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "Do you, really?"
Rather: "I do."
OReilly: "Even though he lied to Jim Lehrers face about the Lewinsky case?"
Rather: "Who among us has not lied about something?"
OReilly: "Well, I didnt lie to anybodys face on national television. I dont think you have, have you?"
Rather: "I dont think I ever have. I hope I never have. But, look, its one thing-"
OReilly, jumping in: "How can you say hes an honest guy then?"
Rather: "Well, because I think he is. I think at core hes an honest person. I know that you have a different view. I know that you consider it sort of astonishing anybody would say so, but I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things."
OReilly: "Really?!?"
Rather: "Yeah, I do."
OReilly: "See, I cant. I want my government to be honest across-the-board. I dont want people lying."

LOL, posted already, see my comprehensive list @ #2
Which would be pretty hypocritical IMO considering her 'editors' immediately ban for life any Ldotter who mentions FR in a post - which I found out.
Also, if you read Kurtz's book: Media Circus, you will find many, many prophetic passages in its pages.
I hear you loud and clear, FRiend. I share your concerns....
I will never forgive these guys if the so called "nuclear" option is pushed aside. I WILL stay home in 08 if McCain or Rudy or some other RINO gets the nod.
Drudge doesn't seem to be interested in covering it, I don't know why. This weekend he put up the WaPo story about the memo. I can only hope that Rush and Hannity have seen these threads or read powerline and decide to talk about it. This just needs a little bit of momentum, it is far too important to let go. CBS, check....ABC, check....NBC is next.
Did anyone hear Lanny Davis on O'Rielly last night mention the memo twice? He said Repubs distributed this memo, as if it is a proven fact, and O'Reilly never stopped him. He just let it stand as if it were an unquestioned fact. So much for "No Spin".
