Tonight, several fine Christian men made the choice to cross the line onto Auschwitz 'Hospice' property with water for Terri.
One of them is an Army medic just returned from serving our country in Iraq.
I delivered a loud message directly to the officers making the arrests that they were violating their oaths to protect innocent human life. They all definitely heard me, and I saw a change in their demeanor after that. They know they are acting as armed guards for a murder. Frankly, I hope they can't sleep tonight, and for many nights in the future.
I've always been a respecter and a great supporter of LE, but in this case, I have absolutely no respect for these men who have allowed themselves to be put in a moral position no different in the least from Nazi concentration camp guards.
I have wondered how the doctors, nurses, guards, etc. can "do their jobs" in a situation such as this. Their jobs are to protect innocent human life, but in fact they are doing the exact opposite. I've wondered why they don't do the right thing and refuse to be a part of it. The guilt will haunt them forever.
It's amazing that there seems to be no lack of "conscientious" objectors to defending our country, but there isn't one objector among the police/hospice staff to putting this woman to death against all standards of decency.
You are right. During the Nuremburg trials, many of the defendants attempted to say "But I was only following orders, this was war time". Didn't fly then and sure the heck shouldn't fly now. I thought we had come a long way from Nazi days. Looks to me like things are coming full circle.!!
