I was watching Michael Schiavo's brother on TV last night. I think it was on Scarborough. He was almost gleeful in his rhetoric - especially in his hateful speech toward the Schindler's. It made my skin crawl. And they will not admit that Terri is suffering.
Lord have mercy on us all.
Michael Schiavo banned flowers from Terri's room. She is now allowed to have greeting cards in her room.
JUDGE WHITTEMORE RULES AGAINST TERRI
Federal Judge Nixes Schiavo's Feeding Tube
MARK LONG, Associated Press Writer
TAMPA, Fla. - A federal judge on Friday refused to order the reinsertion of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube, yet another setback for the parents of the brain-damaged woman in their battle against her husband to keep her alive.
For a second time, U.S. District Judge James Whittemore ruled against the parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, who had asked him to grant their emergency request to restore her feeding tube while he considers a lawsuit they filed.
The tube was removed a week ago on a state judge's order that agreed with her husband, who has said she has no hope for recovery and wouldn't want to be kept alive artificially. The Schindlers believe their daughter could improve and wouldn't want to die.
As of Friday morning, Terri Schiavo, 41, had been without food or water for almost seven days and was showing signs of dehydration flaky skin, dry tongue and lips, and sunken eyes, according to attorneys and friends of the Schindlers. Doctors have said she would probably die within a week or two of the tube being pulled.

Federal Judge Denies Motion
Thursday, March 24, 2005
http://www.baynews9.com/content/74/2005/3/24/75556.html
A federal Judge in Tampa this morning refused to have doctors reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. This was the second time this week US District court Judge James Whittemore refused to do so.
Michael Schiavo says Terri wouldn't want to live in this condition.
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, are running out of options to keep Schiavo alive, as she is in her seventh day without a feeding tube.
Also, the Department of Children and Families filed a motion with the Florida Supreme Court to reinstate a stay in the case and to review the denial of a stay by the Second District Court of Appeals. Late Thursday the Supreme Court dismissed that motion.
Earlier Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal by the Schindlers to reinsert their daughter's feeding tube.
The judges gave no reason for their decision, which was at least the fifth time they refused to get involved in Schiavo's case.
The Schindlers' hopes dropped further when Pinellas/Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer reinstated his own restraining order against the Department of Children and Families.
Greer also denied DCF's motion for a stay and access to her records to see if Schiavo was abused or financially exploited.
Later in the day, Greer denied another DCF motion. The organization wanted to take custody of Schiavo in light of new evidence from its adult protective services team that she was misdiagnosed.
That came from a neurologist DCF enlisted from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
The neurologist said Schiavo might be in a state of minimal consciousness and not in a persistent vegetative state as doctors have diagnosed Schiavo since she lapsed into a coma in 1990.
Governor Jeb Bush said Wednesday if there is any uncertainty about Schiavo's condition, they should err on the side of protecting her.
Bush said the neurologist has not examined Schiavo. His diagnosis is based on observing Schiavo in her room for approximately an hour, viewing videotapes and reviewing Schiavo's medical records. He has also done extensive research on persistent vegetative states.
A group of demonstrators plans to head to Tallahassee on a bus for a prayer vigil for Good Friday.
As news of Schiavo's condition worsened Thursday, demonstrators seemed resigned to her fate.
A demonstrator playing this drum outside the hospice said it signified Schiavo's heartbeat.
I meant to write "not" instead of "now." Greeting cards are banned from Terri's room per Michael's order.
Modeling is just a hobby for her. THERE WILL BE A FUNDRAISER CALLED "Walk for the World" and there is a WORLD FOOD BANK.
They used their niece today to make us feel that we have it much better off than people around the world. Matt should have asked Lauren ABOUT TERRI SCHIAVO.
Associated Press report 03/25/05
In the federal court hearing, Schindler lawyer David Gibbs III argued that Terri Schiavo's rights to life and privacy were being violated. Whittemore interrupted as Gibbs attempted to liken Schiavo's death to a murder.
"That is the emotional rhetoric of this case. It does not influence this court, and cannot influence this court. I want you to know it and I want the public to know it," Whittemore said.
Bush appealed that decision to the 2nd District. The Florida Supreme Court later declined to take up a separate appeal on a Greer injunction that blocked the state's social services agency from taking temporary custody of Schiavo while challenges are argued. State law allows the Department of Children & Families to act in emergency situations of adult abuse.
The department also filed another petition before Greer seeking to provide emergency protective services for Schiavo. Greer had not scheduled a hearing, but he indicated one could occur Monday, according to Bush's office.
"For this lockdown to occur without having the ability to have an open mind, and say, 'Well, maybe there are new facts on the table, maybe there are new technologies, maybe, just maybe, we should be cautious about this' ... is very troubling," Bush said.

I just got up here in Los Angeles. Lord have mercy on us as a nation. We have reached a no return, if we allow Terri to die.
Goodmorning this Good Friday. However, today is a sad, sad day! This day is a reminder of Christ's love for us and what He did for us.
I fear it is over for Terri. There really is no other legal options I believe. I think Terri will die sometimes over the weekend. God have mercy on her soul! I will never understand how Judge Greer has allowed this to happen and how many of the other judges went against the written law in this case and are letting Terri die. They will not get away with this in front of God!
Terri's sister Suzanne and Terri supporters.
The truth is that we live under a judiciary that is as dishonest, deceitful and disgusting as they come.
1. Accepted hearsay of one man.
2. Allowed the word of one man to take the life of another.
3. Allowed a judge who was asked to recuse himself for fear to remain seated on any court anywhere at anytime.
4. This nation is now at least as divided as it was in 1861.
5. One judge who is opinionated with hate has torn us asunder and rent the seams and fabric of this nation.
6. Will I as a person re-elect any judicial figure in this nation. No, if they are incumbent I would rather vote for a cocker spaniel, at least he is cute and wags his tail.
7. Would I allow Michael Schiavo to be a licensed nurse, no I would not.
8. Would I allow Michael Schiavo to work in the same hospital where I was going to take a loved one. No I would travel a thousand miles first.
9. The terminally ill self-regulate, you don't have to starve them or dehydrate them, they do it themselves.
10. Should we have a right-to-die law, probably, but it needs wise men to write it, and our judiciary should not be a part of its writing. The right to die is personal, but your requests need to be well documented in writing, not based on the word of any three people that it is your wish.
11. Food and water are a privilege that this nation has, other nations don't, but we withhold it from the innocent.
12. I don't want to hear any one talking about the other nations who regularly trade in genocide such as the tribal wars in the Sudan. We are hipocritical to interfere, for this nation has joined the ranks of nations practicing genocide, no different that Saddam gasing the Kurds.
13. I fear for our veterans coming home wounded, this precedent just makes Greer and his cronies richer. I fear for our seniors who they adjudicate to be incompetent so that their buddies can become professional guardians and sell the assets for 50% or less of market value, probably to their friends, lawyers and judges, and the dissipate the remainder with phony and grossly inflated legal fees which probate judges in Florida and more than likely every where else seem to allow. We used to hang thieves, now we turn them into judges.
14. The State of Florida even has a Senator who believes that a human life has the value of her being called names. Excuse me? Isn't that why we have students shooting students?
15. Florida seems to have $14 million in medicare fraud and there doesn't seem to be anyone collecting it. In California they take the cost of your license plates right out of your bank account, without your permission, why doesn't the State of Florida refuse these people additional services.
More later, have to go to work so that I can contribute to judicial homicide, theft of senior funds, medicare fraud, and loss of the values this nation was built on.
I was thinking about the family, too. There are people holding vigil there, too. If I could talk to the florist direct, maybe I could just tell him what to do . . . If I don't see an address posted, I will do that. First I am going to Good Fri. and will have flyers of Terri I THIRST with gov's and pres' contact info. That, and holding by her in spirit.
God Helps Those Who help themselves may be an old saying, but it's not Biblical! ;-)
[Comment] Since when was food and water considered burdensome to a healthy disabled woman?

fv, We're over 5,000 posts, and I started a new thread- Thread #6---

The mods will want to lock this thread -- see you at at the new Thread 6.
I swear he makes me sick. I am so upset about this.
Jeb said he can't do anything more...well, he will get voted out of office and then he won't have to worry about it.
I tell you he really pulled a Pontius Pilate.
This whole thing is the decay of our society.

ACTION ALERT WITH JEB'S PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL:
Time is running out for Terri Schiavo. She's been
starving to death for seven days now. An expert neurologist
from the Mayo Clinic has testified that she is NOT in a
"persistent vegetative state," but is very aware of what
is going on around her. That means that in her present
state, she is in a great deal of pain and suffering from
starving to death -- she just can't communicate that fact
to those around her. Contrary to those that try to paint
a picture of a "gentle process," death by dehydration is a
cruel, inhumane and often agonizing death.
We MUST stop this inhumanity NOW.
Governor Jeb Bush is Terri's last hope. But it's not looking
very likely that he'll act on the authority he has... unless
he hears from YOU and ME in a powerful way, RIGHT NOW.
We had a meeting on Wednesday between folks from RightMarch
(William Greene and our attorney, Larry Klayman) and Governor
Bush's chief counsel (his top lawyer on staff). We presented
information on why the Governor has the authority RIGHT NOW
under Florida Law and the state constitution to take Terri
into protective custody NOW, and save her life.
Gov. Bush failed to take action.
We had a meeting on Thursday between our folks (this time,
Larry Klayman AND Ambassador Alan Keyes) and Gov. Bush's
Chief of Staff. Dr. Keyes eloquently explained to him why
the Governor has the authority RIGHT NOW under Florida Law
and the state constitution to take Terri into protective
custody NOW, and save her life.
Gov. Bush failed to take action.
In fact, at one point, we received definitive word that the
Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) was on
their way to the hospice where Terri is being held, to take
her in and re-insert her feeding tube. Then, the little
dictatorial tyrant, Judge Greer, gave an order for them to
NOT take her. They could have -- and should have -- ignored
this unconstitutional and illegal order... but Gov. Bush
told them to stop.
Gov. Bush failed to take action.
This is OUTRAGEOUS. Judge Greer has shown more courage in
trying to KILL Terri Schiavo than Gov. Bush has shown in
trying to save her. But instead of facing Judge Greer down
like he should have... Bush blinked.
This is THE pivotal moment in Gov. Bush's political career.
He MUST be a hero for Terri Schiavo. He needs to step up
to the plate NOW, and exercise his constitutional and legal
authority NOW, before Terri dies. But he doesn't seem to
be willing to take that chance and do it... so we need to
help encourage him.
So once more, we need YOUR help.
We need EVERYONE READING THIS MESSAGE to call Governor
Jeb Bush RIGHT AWAY, and ask him to do one simple thing:
"PLEASE EXERCISE YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY, AND
TAKE TERRI SCHIAVO INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY RIGHT AWAY."
That's all we're asking you to do. Just call Gov. Bush
NOW and beg him to save Terri's life, using the power he
already has.
TAKE ACTION: PLEASE call Governor Jeb Bush's office NOW
at 850-488-4441 (or fax him at 850-487-0801), asking him
to exercise the executive powers he ALREADY HAS, and take
custody of Terri Schiavo to save her from being starved
to death. You can also e-mail him at jeb@myflorida.com .
We've been here lobbying the Governor all week long. We've
had daily prayer vigils in his office, and nightly vigils
outside of his mansion at 700 North Adams. Hundreds of
people have been outside of Terri's hospice in Pinellas
Park, and we have chartered buses to bring many of them
here to Tallahassee to plead with Gov. Bush to use the
powers he has NOW to save Terri's life NOW.
Even Terri's parents, the Schindlers, will be on ALL THREE
major network morning shows today, thanks to our efforts,
pleading with Gov. Bush to act quickly. And we'll be here
ALL DAY on Good Friday to ask Gov. Bush to intervene to
save the life of Terri Schiavo. The governor has it within
his power to rescue Terri, and her life is in the governor's
hand.
You can click below to read -- AND USE -- the five legal
briefs that explain to Gov. Jeb Bush that he has the legal
authority to save Terri Schiavo:

http://www.societyfortruthandjustice.com/new_page_6.htm
Call Gov. Bush NOW and ask him to USE his legal powers to save
Terri's life. For the sake of Terri's life, we CANNOT afford
to wait while the courts bicker over jurisdiction -- and we
CANNOT let little two-bit judges order the Executive branch
to not do their duty.
NOTE: It's been very expensive for us to engage in this
activism in Tallahassee and Pinellas Park this week. We
reserved hotel rooms; we rented meeting halls for rallies
and activist/lobbying training sessions; we rented buses to
bring people from Pinellas Park to Tallahasee -- TWICE; we
flew legal experts like Alan Keyes and Larry Klayman in to
meet with Governor Bush's people; we've spent funds on tons
of media and press releases... the list goes on and on.
We're asking you to give a donation to help with our activism
efforts to save Terri's life. Battles cost money; resources
cost money; media costs money; I could go on, but you get the
picture. I am asking you to show your support by making as
generous a contribution as you can to this effort. (Gifts are
not tax deductible.)

Thank you for your concern, your prayers, your efforts, and
your support. Together, we can prevail against judicial
tyranny, and rescue Terri Schiavo from a cruel death.
Please keep us in your prayers.
Be sure to send this Alert to everyone you know who wants
to help save Terri's life. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Randall Terry
