I love that song!
The old hymns are the best ones. I play them on the piano. The new stuff doesn't quite do it! :-D
same here janette.. although i'm beginning to think that no matter who we vote for, we are "throwing away our vote"...
prayers and hugs! we must shore each other up in Him during these times! We are all human and all weak and all need Him.
Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, Who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
Full atonement! can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Lifted up was He to die;
It is finished! was His cry;
Now in Heavn exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song well sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Come of here, there's praise and worship going on. It'll lift your heart. (((((eyespysomething))))
Beneath the cross of Jesus I fain would take my stand,
The shadow of a mighty rock within a weary land;
A home within the wilderness, a rest upon the way,
From the burning of the noontide heat, and the burden of the day.
O safe and happy shelter, O refuge tried and sweet,
O trysting place where Heavens love and Heavens justice meet!
As to the holy patriarch that wondrous dream was given,
So seems my Saviors cross to me, a ladder up to heaven.
There lies beneath its shadow but on the further side
The darkness of an awful grave that gapes both deep and wide
And there between us stands the cross two arms outstretched to save
A watchman set to guard the way from that eternal grave.
Upon that cross of Jesus mine eye at times can see
The very dying form of One Who suffered there for me;
And from my stricken heart with tears two wonders I confess;
The wonders of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
I take, O cross, thy shadow for my abiding place;
I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of His face;
Content to let the world go by to know no gain or loss,
My sinful self my only shame, my glory all the cross.
Lord, we come again right now to ask you to stand by Terri's bedside, personally. Keep evil far from her and when she comes through this we will look forward to her telling us how you were there with her. Be with her, keep her organs and her body strong and healthy, pull her through, Lord, and confound the wicked. Utterly perplex them! Throw them into panic! But keep Terri safe...keep her SO safe, and her organs SO healthy. Fill her mouth and her throat with cool water, with moisture to sustain her. Keep her, Lord Jesus, we pray it in the name above all names...Yours.
Amazing love, how can it be , That Thou My God shouldst die for me........
I love that one!
It seems the president and congress have no response to the contempt shown by this judge for subpoenas and legislation.
While leadership was strong against Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda in Iraq and Afghanistan, it seems paralyzed by judicial tyranny emanating from this case.
Time never stands still--we shall see at every hour.
"I am also feeling that sense of peace that all is ok"
Interesting you should say that.. yesterday.. I let go of everything and just stood bathed in His love and heard Him tell me "It's OK.. don't worry.. It's alright.."
Those have been my thoughts over and over this week, Awestruck, and even more so as one person after another has let us down.
"Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." (John 6:68)
Amen.........
Hear our prayers, oh Lord. Heal the sick, reveal Yourself to the unbelieving, to the doubters; heal our land.
Well my Freeper friend, the Worship time has come to an end of me for now. We have somewhere to go tonight and frankly I need to get out of this house and away from things I cannot control. I will be back on later.
Keep praying and I will too!
Amen to that! Our trust should ALWAYS be on him alone.
As far as the true character of the men in our country...I seem to keep getting stuck on Patrick Henry's speech. These were brave men who shaped our country and I'm just going to post a small snippet...
"Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty towards the majesty of heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings."
Patrick Henry - March 23, 1775
Amen ...
Upon that cross of Jesus mine eye at times can see
The very dying form of One Who suffered there for me;
And from my stricken heart with tears two wonders I confess;
The wonders of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
Amen. Thank you Lord.
