Robert Bork told Sean Hannity that he cannot think of anything that can be done to save Terri. He said that starving people is now common: he cited Downs' syndrome babies unwanted by parents. Bork was low-key and did not think that Terri's injustice could be corrected by higher courts.

Now Senator Santorum is saying that the language in the congressional bill did not specifically say that the feeding tube had to be reinserted because that was understood. Santorum said he had no idea the court would ignore the law. Well, senator, you and the people and poor Terri have been had. What will you do now?

Yes it is sensible. Boycotts work. These (Pinellas/Pasco) people elected Greer. They need to know that reasonable people will now NOT go to their state. Nor will they buy from a state who thinks this is "ok". Most Floridians are blase on this. Freepers are an exception.

My sister lives there and there was NO talking to her. I got all the presses talking points thrown back at me including "It's a family matter". BUNK.

Santorum said that who is on the federal courts does matter, as in Terri's case. But as I understand it, some Republican judges in Atlanta voted against Terri too. It was a 10-2 vote against her. The federal courts have snubbed Congress, which is impotent here.

I do not think the people of Florida or the Citrus Growers are to blame here. That kind of thinking is just immature and not logical at all.

Perhaps they will weigh their decisions with a little more wisdom when they step into the voting booth next time. Do you think the boycott against France was immature, as well?

I just wish that Michael's abuse of Terri, his 10+ year common-law marriage to another woman, his two bastard children, the fact that Terri has never had an MRI or PET scan, etc was more widely known by the general public.

This isn't about Terri's right-to-die it's about Michael Schivao's, Attorney Felos , Dr. Cranston's and Judge Greer's advocating the right-to-kill inconvenient persons and to create a new industry allowing such actions.

Jay Wolfson is a professor in the College of Medicine at the University of SOUTH Florida, in Tampa. The University of Florida is in Gainesville, about 120 miles up the road.
