TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A lawyer for Terri Schiavo's parents says an appeal to try to keep the brain-damaged woman alive has been filed with the U.S. Supreme Court.
It may well not have been thought through very well. It seems to have caused Felos to go get a restraining order from Greer. I wonder whether that would have happened if Jeb had kept cards to his vest.
No. Either he acts NOW, or his reputation and legacy are toast.
You are the one. Now I appear to be 2 for 2. Not a bad day for a ball player. Thanks again.
I missed you with Hugh - and I'm sorry. What exactly is your position on all this? And then I MUST GO TO SLEEP!!
Agreed. Sadly.
Maybe he has to do things he shouldn't do. If not now, when? These are unusual circumstances - and that takes unusual actions. IMHO
The pleadings were needlessly killing Terri before her time, and it was not too late (then) to reverse the fatal course, if only someone got to Gibbs.
I forgot. You're the guy from Unitarian stock. That explains a lot, I guess.
He's been at work on this for much longer than the past week. I am amazed that of all the people involved in this, he will be blamed (by his fellow conservatives) for the fact that the system failed this woman.
Yep, it does.
You are a valuable member of the team. Perhaps when you're nest egg is large enough you will find your true calling.
Since you are the sitting legal star, please tell me what you think is going to happen with the DCF hearing. Will they appeal it. How long would it take?
The seminary perhaps. LOL
I don't have an informed opinion on it, but my off the cuff reaction, is that Greer will put it into the dumpster. He has a rather commodious dumpster.
You know, I'm orig. from Tenn. but I too love WV. It is the most beautiful/wild state in the Mid-Atlantic region. I do a lot of volunteer work for the tourism industry in our county. You and I have something in common. We both chose a second career later in life (in my case, real late in life). I had a hard time getting through a liberal seminary after living so many years in the "real" world. I managed to be a good parrot and made it with good grades.
So, you believe he can do whatever pops into his head?
I watched a bit of his press conference today. He was careful to consult his legal team, and it was clear he is trying to come up with a legal way to intervene in this case.
It's really unfortunate that he is being pecked at and his demise is being predicted by so many people who are on the same side he is.
With friends like you guys, who needs enemies?
Do you want him to break the law?
Ack, it's so scary, what you say. "The pleadings were killing" an innocent woman "before her time." An innocent woman is murdered because of poorly written legal documents.
Good night everybody. Pray for Terri, her family, her lawyers, Governer Bush, and all the brave children who were arrested for trying to give Terri water.
Just because it is a law doesn't mean it's right. Executive lawlessnness, as you call it, might be the only decent, courageous thing to do.
