TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A lawyer for Terri Schiavo's parents says an appeal to try to keep the brain-damaged woman alive has been filed with the U.S. Supreme Court.
Napolitano said during the discussion that the legal issues so far seem to have been that she had a fair review...and the law was followed. If say, you were tried for murder, convicted, and then it came out that someone else had done it...some judges might say, so what, you had your day in court. The fact that you are factually innocent is neither here nor there. Napolitano said judges should understand the law is about justice, and that they're not a bump on a log...in other words, see justice done...not just the formality.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. His window of opportunity was in the '70's (I think he killed Mary Jo in 1969-?) and had it not been for that, and the subsequent exposure of the coverup, I do believe he would have been President. I must give credit where due, Robert Sherrill of the NY Times was the first MSM person to investigate and expose. I've never forgotten reading his work in NYT Magazine in 1974.
As I've posted on several threads, ad nauseum, I'm ashamed to be a lawyer today. To answer your question, I hope this sparks a movement that goes beyond promoting pro-life judges, questions the (il)legitimacy of judicial tyranny and galvanizes people to force elected representatives to reassert their power. I pray Jeb Bush is the first one.
I have no children and can't begin to say I comprehend what Mary Jo's family and Terri's were/are going through. I am not a traditionally religious person, but I am praying very, very hard right now.
My prediction is that SCOTUS will rightly decide this has been adjudicated to death, that there Terri has been diagnosed as having no higher brain function and that has been before 20 judges, that had she just scrawled a note this wouldn't even be a case, and that Michael is allowed, AS A MATTER OF LAW, to act on her behalf, and that his say so is sufficient to end her suffering, which is what she wanted.

You are in a position to help us fight judicial tyranny. When we elect judges we really have no way of knowing whether they are strict constitutionalist or not. You might have a way to know what kind of judge they would be and inform us so we can inform the public.

I guess that explains how he - and his lady associate lawyer - have found so much time to be on TV and radio for interviews in the last several days.
Good for him - I was expecting him to slam the Congress and Executives for trying to do anything.
A lawyer called on Hewitt on Monday night screaming that they had to amend the pleading before it got to the court of Appeal. Hewitt was a little dismissive saying the 11th District could remedy it if they wanted.
I guess they just did not want to.
Any reason why the courts did not address those issues?
sidenote: some guy called a radio station and pronounced MS last name and the Italian meaning of his name - he said is was 'scum'.
