"Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control and reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society."

"Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women." With the exception of Mrs. Schiavo. NOW has not seen fit to comment or assist in the case of Mrs. Schiavo. I suppose that a severely disabled woman being starved to death by her adulterous husband and the government doesn't fall under the categories of homophobia, racism, abortion or other issues of importance to this august body.

Now has no right to call themselves the National Organisation for Women. They were quiet when the Paula Jones case came up, and they are quiet now. Too busy encouraging lesbianism and abortion I suppose.

The court has ruled that the HUSBAND has control of a woman. He has abandoned her through his Common Law marriage and inpregnating his common law wife twice.
I can't wait for the first Husband that brings a lawsuit to stop his wife from having an abortion.

The only kind of woman the NOW people care about is the liberal woman. Mrs. Schiavo doesn't represent lib causes, so she's expendable.

Glad to see someone posting the truth about the NOW group. They do not care a whit about women or anyone for that matter. They only want to obstruct the conservatives.

"They only want to obstruct the conservatives..."
In all fairness, their agenda is somewhat more nuanced, as to include killing the unborn with impunity and a vengence.

"Juanita Broderick ring a bell"
Mrs. Broderick was raped by a Democratic President and liberal favorite. NOW must have it's priorities.

"... I guess married women are presumed to be chattle."
Non-demonstrably liberal women whose case dare to potentially impact progressive causes (right to life, abortion and judicial activism) are indeed chattel.

Terir Schiavo is NOT a woman; it is a potted plant (although genetically huamn and with many bizarrely human characteristics). It is the personal property of Michael Schiavo. Judge George Greer has decreed so, and his decrees are final and irreversible. Not all genetic humans are necessarily legal persons; the Supreme Court in 1857 found Dred Scott to be an animal, not a person, because of the color of his skin. Judge Greer has applied this proud legal tradition to Terri Schiavo, whom he has ruled is a potted plant, not a person. All women are persons; Terri Schiavo is not a person and therefore not a woman. So the National Association of Women need not defend it.

I sent them an e-mail this morning, & asked them (in a respectful manner, of course) what their opinions were about the Schiavo case...I have yet to hear a reply.
I have a question tho: I don't know a whole lot about compiter language & all that, but IF I do get a response from them, how would I post their e-mail reply on FR for everyone to read?
