A state judge issued an emergency order Wednesday to keep the Department of Children & Families from taking any action that would reconnect Terri Schiavos feeding tube. George Felos, the attorney for Michael Schiavo, asked Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer to issue the order Wednesday while the judge considers a request from DCF and Gov. Bush to take custody of Terri Schiavo.

This may explain the delay.
Vermin.
Stay tuned...I am looking at all their pictures on the Florida Senate website and seeing if I can recognize him.
This punk judge needs to be smacked down. He's way too full of himself.

"They should have just kept their mouths shut and said nothing to nobody and when the timing was right - gone in and taken her"
I agree. I was afraid that she would actively be killed once MS heard the news. Especially because (and if someone has a link to a source I would love to read it), I understand that "new evidence" came to light and that new evidence was finding out a secret agreement between Greer and MS to share the money once she died.
Does anyone have the source for that? That is not only astounding, it is exactly what so many people here have speculated.
"But .. once she was in state custody - Greer would just have her removed and have the tube removed again."
I have to say, this is my greatest fear. DFS has got to do it right because to keep reinserting and taking out her tube is inhuman. They cannot let MS once again have decision-making power over Terri if they ever get custody of her.
That is not what the law says.
Even a non profit Hospice has a budget, and from what I have read, it's costing $150-$200/day to care for Terri there. Someone has to pay for it. I also heard today on the Nat'l news that there is only about $40,000 of the medical malpractice loss suit money that Terri received, but never was used for her rehab or care (that was put in trust for her and Michael oversees the trust and pays his lawyers out of it)
snick snick
"Both MS and Greer are hell-bent on killing her -- what on earth is driving them? Or is it something below the earth?"
You may be right! I just don't understand that the same people who want all the rights for convicted killers, terrorists, child molesters and such can get so worked up about killing this one poor woman with a loving family who wants to care for her. That man gave up his spousal rights and responsibilities when he started playing house with someone else. No one would have blamed him for going on with his life if he had quietly divorced her and given responsibility to her willing parents. Someone as callous as he is doesn't have the capability of wanting to carry out her wishes. He just wants her dead and out of his hair!
Makes you wonder what he's afraid she might remember and tell.
I was responding to someone who heard a Fl. state senator say it....I'm going to do some searching and see if I can find out who he is. I guess I'll start with the Democrats (just a guess)
Amen...that is the core of our fight for utter survival. This could be the downfall of our nation.
or it's rebirth under the original ideas of the founder's constitution.
Minus the ability for the judiciary to become this powerful ever again.
Any legal beagles familiar with the preemptive restraining order of Greer against emergency removal procedure.
Does the first negate the 2nd
"Greer loses this one."
unless the Executive Branch unnecessarily kowtows to him . . .
He is playing this game of poker rather boldly, given the cards he actually has . . . but he has won all the chips so far . . .
Ain't it a shame?
Jeb Bush doesn't make the call to seize Terri and place her in protective custody. This decision is made by the DCF.
Everyone's still too focused on bashing, courts, lawyers & Michael Schivao to listen.
Those who have EARS....LET THEM HEAR.
Court cannot stop it, only review it.
The law says there needs to be a court review within 14 days of the emergency removal. If the judge decides the removal is not warranted, then DCF has to release the individual.
I think you're right. I'm wondering if Felos and Schiavo are into whatever Greer is too. They all seem tied into the same scam somehow.
follow the money . . .
"They do not require a court order to do so, they have the statutory authority under law to do it in an emergency."
Exactly. Ask any angry young teen who has learned to call 911 and report abuse if he's mad at his parents.
No, the state is in control of the governor, and the governor is entitled to make calls tot ake people into protective custody. Does he have the guts? I dont know.
I think this will cause the Judiciary to become a focus of the people.
Maybe the right to recall a judge will be in the works soon for all benches!!!!
They can under the emergency procedures
