I heard it reported that Greer is a Republican and a Christian.

Most republicans, I believe, would consider him a RINO. I also read he is Baptist, but that he has received so much criticism from his own congregation that he had withdrawn himself from that congregation.

Just because he's stopped worshipping at a particular church doesn't mean he isn't a Christian.
