If the DCF forces this showdown, there is little doubt in my mind that the Florida Supreme Court will quickly rule that it is an unconstitutional invasion of the separation of powers, just as they did with Terri's Law. They could hardly rule otherwise. The US Supreme Court basically backed them up by refusing to hear the appeal of that previous ruling.

I don't know what happens at that point. If the executive branch, and presumably the legislative branch, are free to ignore court rulings, then the Rule of Law has been greatly weakened.

Maybe that's a good thing because the judiciary has become too powerful. But maybe it will lead to chaos. Governors and Presidents can do whatever the heck they want without anyone having any recourse. And if they can flaunt the laws and judicial decrees without any fear, why can't the people?

I dunno, I think this has consequences far beyond Terri, and Jeb Bush had better think about it before he does it.

There have been LAWS BROKEN by Greer which would NULLIFY Greer's orders.

The consequences are there, and just as bad if they don't act.

Well, it's already leading to murder.

I'll take the chaos, thank you.

The three branches of government are EQUAL. The Judiciary DOES NOT SUPERCEDE THE OTHERS. I have no doubt that the Florida Supreme Kangeroo Court would back the Swamp Judge....but there have been laws broken, flagrantly in "soliciting false testimony" by Michael Schaivo that TERRI WANTED TO BE STARVED TO DEATH.

If Governors and Presidents disregard the law to an extent that bothers the legislature, they can be impeached. That is the balance.

I don't either Dog Gone.....but then, what you're saying, conversely, the JUDICIAL BRANCH is free to IGNORE the legislative and executive branch.

Oh, you mean how Greer has flaunted law after law? The DCF IS FOLLOWING THE LAW BY ACTING!

This whole thing is a mess: "Hard cases make bad law"

I think you're asking if they don't have to follow each other why do we have to follow any of them? Because if we don't, the executive comes and arrests us. :(
