"Challenging the authority of the courts or a "right" that does not exist may take more courage than our leaders have. I suspect they will cave, like Pilate, when the screaming and yelling starts by the media, some few insane Democrats, the proponents and true believers of the death culture, the ACLU, and the "compassionate" who believe anyone less than perfect or the radically dependent have no right to live."
Another part near and dear to my view:
In the end, enforcement power is in the hands of the president and the executive branch of government. The president has the authority, and duty, to refuse to enforce any court order that he views as contrary to the law. Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution instructs the president to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed."
The president alone may decide how to execute or enforce the laws. If the president understands a judicial decision as contrary to the law, the president is within his constitutional rights to ignore a judge's order.
When God says it's time for me to go, nothing any doctor can do will be able to make a difference.
Outstanding article. Beautifully written and reasoned. Eloquence from the heart.
"When God says it's time for me to go, nothing any doctor can do will be able to make a difference."
That's what I believe also. God is more powerful than man. So, if a physician can prolong the life of an individual, then God hasn't called them home yet.
"Outstanding article. Beautifully written and reasoned. Eloquence from the heart."
Yes, it trully is. Sure humbled me. I just hope folks read it and get the point that Governor of Florida, or the President of the United States, need to stand up to the Judges, or else be very much like Pontius Pilate. Appropriate message this time of year.
Terri has electrodes in her brain. She is not able to have an MRI. It's not MS's refusal to have one. Ask a first time medical student.
Also, the writer was interesting but forgot to mention this:
As stated in 2001, by the Florida 2nd District Court of appeals in their support of the foundation ruling - which everyone should thoroughly read:
http://abstractappeal.com/schiavo/2dcaorder01-01.txt
They found that there was clear and convincing evidence that she wouldn't want the tube to remain.
They also noted that Michael did not make the decision - he asked the court to listen to both sides and for the court to take his role in this matter of her tube. He did not have to do that. He could have forced he parents to challenge his legal decision from a less powerful position.
Death process, death with dignity, quality of life, and futile care: fine-sounding words conjured by those who take a lie and twist the meaning of words in order to fit their world vision. A vision where our individual rights and dignity come from the group, from certain decision-makers, the state, anyone but God."

The lie taken for the truth is Michael Schiavo's claim that Terri told him of her wish not be kept alive in extreme circumstances. This stinker of a case has been built on judges accepting this lie of Michael Schiavo. Accepting this lie as if it were an actual living will will set down on paper and signed by Terri Schiavo
A judge should not make medical decisions for anyone.
!!! NEVER SAY DIE !!!

"Terri has electrodes in her brain. She is not able to have an MRI. It's not MS's refusal to have one."
Didn't MS decide to implant these electrodes? Correct me if he did not. How convenient that an MRI is precluded on those grounds. I'm just sayin'
THE 'VAST LIFE-WING CONSPIRACY' AGAINST 'poor wittuw michael' SCHIAVO [FR Link page]
Broken bones, signs of strangulation, No CPR administered, the cremation outrage, and recent, hot: ACCIDENTAL CONFESSION ON LARRY KING?....And many quotes with info I was not aware of have been pasted there.
Doctors mentioned experimental surgery to him. He did it in hopes it would stimulate brain activity.
He'd be condemned if he hadn't tried it, I'm sure. Now he's tried it and he's condemned anyway. Can't win situation.
Who should make medical decisions like this when there is conflict in the family?
Doctors
ok thanks... I guess that was before the settlements then.
Another lie taken for truth uttered by Michael Schiavo is that he loves Terri.
1Corinthians 13:4-8 sheds true light:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast,
it is not proud, it is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
Concerning Michael Schiavo's horrendous actions against Terri.
Proverbs 6:16-19 states:
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to Him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.
