Her husband says that is what she wanted, and the courts agree.
Hopefully she will be at peace instead of trapped inside a body.
Well then, she wasn't suffering with the feeding tube either, so why do they claim keeping her alive is "torture?"
His parents were starved in this manner. I will see If I can find the link to a thread about it.
"Her husband says that is what she wanted, and the courts agree."
Nobody but an imbecile would take Michael Schiavo's word at face value.
His statements are polished, he must be getting his talking points from the Democratic party. Try starving your pets to death and see if you aren't charged with animal cruelty. But starve a person to death and it's O.K.
MY BAD ...
Those were MS's words, not yours.
This is like living in a bad dream.
Oh, that we could all go so "peacefully"......
I agree, but that is not what the law says. This has been argued and appealed over a dozen times!
I think that when there is a dispute like in this case it is best to err on the side of life but the law sees it differently.
Staged by Larry King. He's not serving tough questions to Michael Schiavo; he asks him a question and then in the same breath gives him the answer.
KING: could anybody in that room feed her, spoon feed her?
SCHIAVO: No, they cannot.
Now watch, rather than ask Schiavo 'why'?, King decides to hand Michael the answer
KING: Because she cannot swallow?
SCHIAVO: No, she cannot swallow.
So while King feeds Michael Schiavo pablum, Michael feeds his wife..... nothing.
Thank you for that, jeremiah! I knew I liked you from the moment I met you on another thread. Well written. I'm proud of you!
It's probably been said before but I believe Michael Schiavo sees a lot of "potential" harm to HIM if Terri is fed and one day reaches a point where she can tell what really happened to her.
Nobody knows. According to the parents the judges and doctors have refused to let her try. (Though one doctor said Terri may possibly learn to swallow with therapy, which was denied by the Court).
Ping me if you do, I didn't know that.
"I think that when there is a dispute like in this case it is best to err on the side of life but the law sees it differently."
The law must be changed then. Slavery was once lawful, as has been pointed out numerous times.
I have never heard of something this barbaric being given government sanction in my lifetime. We live in truly evil days.
Yeah right. But Terri Schiavo wasn't at the end of her life until they started to dehydrate and starve her to death, you TWIT.
I think that is just as horrible as what is happening now- that he was allowed to deny her therapy. What a monster he is.
I'd like to go that way! Sounds great! Count me in!
HUH?
Nevertheless, Michael had her sedated last time. It was her parents who complained because they feared giving her morphine would speed her death. So he removed the sedation.
I don't know if he has her sedated this time or not. I've only seen people worry that he might.
PS. I don't want to spam threads, but I just put up 6 critical links on my freeper page that everyone really needs to read.
Nonsense. Michael Schiavo is every bit the sociopath that Scott Peterson is. Neither have any regrets or remorse over what they did to their wives.
