This is far more important right now, jeremiah. You are doing the work you are supposed to be doing. Your absences are 100 percent excused.
The bottom line is this: Some people are not going to be satisfied until Terri is dead. Some people will not be satisfied unless she lives.
Then how is it that she swallows her own saliva? Yes she can swallow liquids. Not large amounts at a time but if she couldn't swallow her saliva they'd have to have her hooked to a machine to drain it so she wouldn't aspirate it.
Uh huh, and Plessy v. Ferguson was affirmed at the appellate level and the Supreme Court. Judges aren't always right, even appellate judges.
On Dec. 28th my 94 yr old grandmother had a heart attack. The nursing home called the rescue squad and after about 31 minutes they "revived" her. That is, they restored a heart beat and breathing before moving her to a hospital. She died on Dec. 31 having never regained consciousness.
Before the hospital would disconnect the respirator they insisted on doing 2 EEG's to measure brain activity. Both tests showed only brain stem activity. My understanding is that Terri has had no such brain tests either.
I know the visual difference between a disabled person like Terri and a person who has only minimal brain function. It doesn't make me an expert but I'd have to be a moron not to see there is a big difference between being mentally disabled and being brain dead.
Were his parents in a "permanent vegatative state"? What's THAT story?
Re: The Culture of Death
Apocalypse 6:8 And behold a pale horse, and he that sat upon him, his name was Death, and hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
I'm not sure what their condition was.
Great minds think alike!
If MICHAEL WILL LIE ABOUT SOMETHING SO BASIC, WHAT ELSE WILL HE LIE ABOUT??????
Thanks, teach!
Thia ia not euthanasis, this is murder!
Terri (he says) has been able to swallow pudding in the past, and can swallow her own saliva right now. With therapy, she might not even need the feeding tube. "They are truly withholding food from a person who is awake, alert, and can eat and swallow." Does that matter? If Terri were capable of drinking water right now, would we be justified in withholding it from her? Are we celebrating her autonomy or her death? When does the "right to die" become the right to kill?
