EW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) -- A teenage girl was being held hostage by two men in a house here Tuesday, and authorities had the building surrounded, police said.
Police Sgt. Thomas Keefe said police believe two armed men were holding a 14-year-old girl hostage. County hostage negotiators were on the scene and Keefe said authorities were communicating with the men.

It's Holy Week. It's not uncommon for the enemy to slither out and take as many unsuspecting souls captive as he can. But God is stronger. And He's already won the war; the enemy just tries to claim what battles he can.

The important question is, how is her quality of life?

I live close enough to this location that I'm in the helicopter flight pattern.

Just said on 101.5 that the 14 y.o. girl may have been a victim of sexual assault.

"how's Her quality of Life" True...let's consider this. There is the cost of the courts, the hostage negotiators, police officer's time. And, we know the victim will be traumatized and will likely need extensive counseling for PTSD if she does survive....so maybe we should let her go.

Can we endure more of this evil all around us? Evil's been going on for thousands of years my friend, only in recent times do we have the media to observe it and be aware of it everywhere at anytime.
Nothing is new under the sun.
Along those lines...I find it beneficial to my mental health in taking a weekly sabbatical from all news once in a while. ;) This has been a crappy last few days.

I strongly believe in the spiritual battle between good and evil and have made many posts referencing this. I just hope others see these events (especially since January, 2005) for what they truly are - and realize that now is the time to really rally on the side of good. The dramatic changes that are happening throughout the world, via our President's actions and his deep convictions and relationship with God, have, IMHO, evoked the wrath of the dark side. You are right - they are struggling to gain strength, they do not want to loose their stronghold.
In this time of fog and haze that imposed on us by the evil bodies, we must continue to reach out to the light and pray to keep it shining for us.
However, having said that, it is both exhausting and challenging to hear all this terrible news every day.

Eloquently, and I believe, accurately, stated. Yes, we must press on. God has won the war! But a lot of evil is still trying to claim dominion that it can't possess. But we have to do our part on the battlefield. Thank you for the reminder.

Helicopters have started circling lower. I don't know what that means though.

Radio says there are snipers on the scene.
I'm leaving in 10 minutes to pick up my kids from school. I will be going past this area on the way to the school.

Yes...my prayer list has become quite long. I can hardly get through it at night. Thank goodness my knees are too bad to get down on them beside my bed and pray...I would be there until the wee hours of the morning. But, pray we must.
Especially for the Pope now who is again ill. His battle is being sorely waged, and whether one is a Catholic or not, the world recognizes his great worth. We are in particular need of his spiritual guidance and light. Evil knows that Our Holy Father is a remarkable and powerful enemy.

Helicopters have started circling lower. I don't know what that means though. It means that they're flying at a lower altitude, and are constantly turning in the same direction.
