The Rule of Judges
The Sacramento Union ^ | March 10, 2005 | Michael Reagan

Posted on 03/22/2005 10:19:58 AM PST by yatros from flatwater

... The court says in so many words that what our people’s laws say about the issue does not, in the last analysis, matter: ‘In the end our own judgment will be brought to bear on the question of the acceptability of the death penalty,’ he [Justice Kennedy]wrote.

"The court thus proclaims itself sole arbiter of our nation’s moral standards,"; Scalia wrote. And by allowing ";international opinion"; to color their rulings, the justices have thrown both the Constitution of the United States and our national sovereignty into the trash heap. [snip]

As Mark Levin writes, "the idea has taken hold that Supreme Court Justices are somehow imbued with greater insight, wisdom, and vision than the rest of us";and that for some reason Almighty God has endowed them with superior judgment about justice and fairness. That idea must be abandoned. Nothing less than our freedom and our national sovereignty are at stake.

One that seems to have missed posting. Mr. Reagan confines himself to the Supreme Rulers, but his editorial applies to all of our new ruling class.

I think we should start allowing anyone to be judges. In this day and age, legislative law doesn't matter. We can all make the decisions these clowns make. Quit paying them so much to make personal decisions.

Good article. I didn't even know the Sacto Union was still around. I thought the Bee had crushed it years ago, but I looked at its web page and it is much more useful than the Bee's. The Bee is full of infotainment stories on its site, and now you have to register. So, I added the Union to my news link page just now

newsopinion

and will probably remove the Bee eventually.

"Quit paying them so much to make personal decisions."

Good point. They don't apply the law anyway, so why do they have to be lawyers? Any Tom, Dick, or Harry can do what they do.

A democrt congresswoman in the debate over the Schiavo law stated, and I paraphrase, 'We are not Gods, this decision is the Judges.'

"The court thus proclaims itself sole arbiter of our nation’s moral standards,"; Scalia wrote.

They point over here, they point over there, they confuse morals with ethics, and they don't see the State in itself. America is a land of 300 million truck drivers and one philosopher who died twenty years ago.

This is all bunk. I suggest Reagan go and read the penumbra of the constitution.

Personally, I've always relied on the emanations of the Constitution more than the penumbra.

I stand corrected.

'We are not Gods, this decision is the Judges.'

I guess the appointed-for-life judges are now our gods.

I wish I could hear more from Mark Levin on this issue ... I can't get his radio program around here.

Also, read his book, "Men in Black" on this issue. I just finished it and it is mindboggling!! He writes in layman language and documents how and when these 'black robes' started taking over. What I was surprised about, how long ago it started and how many were deranged idiots!

I'm thinking of starting a Video Series, LIBERAL JUDGES GONE WILD, along with LIBERAL DEMOCRATS GONE WILD, which will be available in most conservative book stores.

Focus on 60 Republican Senate Seats in 2006.
