I do understand where you coming from,since my husband served during some of the Clinton years and got out after 8 years of service!

He felt the same way as you did during 9/11 and tried to rejoin but he was above the age cap and was denied.

He now is taking this opportunity to rejoin The Army Reserves and will be the first one to volunteer to Active Duty when the opportunity arrives.

My 17 y/o is planning to join as soon as he finishes High school and is of age.

I asked him why he wants to join and his reply was to serve my country and not for the collage credits.

I am telling you this so that you know that patriotism is still alive in some families.

God bless you and your family for your service to our nation!

Abybody know if this also pertains to people wanting to become officers or pilots? Maybe the new 39 age limit applies only to certain occupations. Comments?
