Actually...the pix of Elian represents the most brutal use of government force. This force has been utilized to enforce good and bad policy throughout time. The point is, even incorrect decisions by judges carry the possible use of force, as backing..... I simply throw this into the discussion as something to ponder.....
Thanks. I must admit that Imus is a good place to see all this MSM bias up close. Invariably, you see them try to push a slanted version of "the story" deleting or twisting what we already know. I do hate them. I do believe it is possible to be honest but they almost never are. Schieffer has a reputation for being more honest than most. But I think it is undeserved. He tries to slant and deceivein a more subtle manner, but just as vicious.
It's time to bring in the US Marshals and rescue Teri from the talon's of those tyrannical, black robed vultures who want her dead, and take her to a safe haven to be treated as she should be treated.
Mr US Attorney General-where are you, and do you have the guts to do the right thing here????

Hearsay is testimony that offers an out of court statement for the truth of the matter asserted therein and not allowed under exceptions. Exceptions to the hearsay rule, dying declaration ("Joe Smith killed me") excited utterance ("It was a red car that ran him over!"), act of independent legal significance, ("I don't want to be hooked upton machines").
Last night on Greta three of Terri's old friends said Terri and her family are DEVOUT CATHOLICS. Two of the women also said that Michael had been abusive and controlling. So there you have it. The husband who was cruel to his wife before the "accident" is the self same man who has been cruel to her since the money came rolling in. What a monster!!!

Would we say that HE WAS VICTORIOUS by obtaining the COURT'S APPROVAL TO MURDER?
No. We called Hitler a murder, and the COURTS and DOCTORS were his ACCOMPLICES.
As to the "clear" constitutionality of this decision, emplying that it was the only constitutional thing he could do...that's hogwash, kust pure, unadulterated Bravo Sierra. The Judge could easily have ruled constitutionally that she had a right to life, which trumps all of the other legaleze and mumbo-jumbo being supported by those who support having her killed.
Common sense has fled so many of our people. When there is the least shred of evidence, doubt or disagreement in such a situation as this, particularly amongst direct family members who are willing to lovingly care for her...you ERE ON THE SIDE OF LIFE!
Anything short of this is an abject violation of the most fundamental principles upon which this Republic was founded.

Sadly, in this ruling and episode, as with many others of our day (ie. abortion) we are living out the negative of John Adams statement...right before our eyes. God bless those who are standing for life, against the culture of death. May we as a people have the fortitude and the willingness, if neccessary, to stand boldly and resoultely on these principles against such conditions of our day.
Saw Terri's friends interviewed last night. Some damning comments about Michael. Was most surprised that Greta seemed to have some compassion for them. She bit into Felos too.
If the roles in government were reversed, odds are Bush supporters would be condemning the Democratic President, Governor, and legislators and saying "what can the judges do?"
Fact is, inconvenient people aren't a real high propriority with either party. And I do think GWB's moral values and heart are in the correct place on this one...he just isn't going to go outside the box.

He has nothing to lose ala Clinton and the pardons. But the fallout from doing what you suggest might well cost those who wish to succeed Bush, and other candidates, the next election, just as the pardon controversy contributed to Algore's defeat.

She allegedly said something like this while they were viewing a TV show about this subject. Now, could that be considered a well thought out Life-or-Death decision? Or was it influenced by an outside stimulus (Like a TV show)?
In other words - Did she REALLY mean it when she said it? For instance, Several years ago, before being admitted for an operation, I had to fill out and sign a Living Will. When I got to that sheet, I had to stop and THINK HARD about the ramifications of what I was about to do/sign.
Did Terri think hard, or was she influenced? Without anything in writing, we'll never know.
Apparently that truth is not self evident any more...
That judge was despicable to stall this process for 24 HOURS! He had his mind made up - it was a sham.
I heard that too, and one of the friends said that Terri was very upset when life support was removed from Karen Ann Quinlan and that Terri said that where there is life, there is hope.
I anticipated this decision yesterday the second they said he was a Clinton appointee. It all comes down to one's perception of life and its value.
