According to the wonderful folks at SeeBS, the gunman killed both of his grandparents before taking his spree to the school. The grandfather was a 31 year police vet, said the Fire Dept. employee they interviewed.

Well, when an Indian goes berserk it usually is because of one of three likely reasons, (1) squaws, (2) fire water or, (3) buffalo. Although, I guess it could be in response to the murder of Paul Wellstone and the subsequent defeat of Kerry.

I'm beginning to wonder about all these mass shootings in such a short period, just when new and more onerous gun control legislation is put before Congress and the state legislatures. This sort of thing has happened before. It's said that once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, but three times is enemy action. (repeated by Neal Knox, about the time the AW Ban and Brady Act were passed, IIRC)

Grinning and waving according to Authorities? Just what is all that swat equiptment for again? Standing around and looking cool?!

One "Authority" with the balls to shoot this killer down instead of waving back would have done more good than 100 swat team doing close order drills and setting up police barriers. If they were close enough to see him grin, they would not have even had to be a good shot.

Just Dang. I am tired of the police making mountains out of mohills so they can buy machineguns. Lets go back to an armed citizenry, it worked much better and a lot less people died.

Police States are not peaceful places...
