Tom Lyons, chief deputy for Beltrami County, said as many as 14 people were injured in the shooting, which happened around 3 p.m. Lyons said a suspect was in custody, but he had no other details.
Four victims were being treated at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, said Sherri Birkeland, the hospital's vice president of development and planning. She had no specific information on the victims or the shooting.

It was the second major school shooting in Minnesota in recent years. In September 2003, two students were shot at Rocori High School in central Minnesota.
Aaron Rollins, 17, and Seth Bartell, 14, both died from their wounds - Rollins that day and Bartell 16 days later. Fellow student John Jason McLaughlin, 15 at the time of the shootings, awaits trial in the case.

I just went out and blew a pile of money for grandchildren's Easter gifts, trying to get my mind off the Schiavo, Lunsford, and Jacko cases, Atlanta courthouse and Wisconson church murders, etc. Now this! I either have to stop watching TV or getting on FR. Where can I find gooooood news? I will say prayers for the victims and families, however. My upset is infinitesimal compaired to theirs.
Shep Smith on Fox News just said eight dead. Report coming up after the break.
Shooter appears to be dead? Is that an official FBI statement? It certainly isn't journalism. The media should be ashamed of the way this story has been reported. It's inexcusable.
