Per Fox News...
She can't be fed. She has a tube because she doesn't have the capacity to be given food or water. If it was tried, she may choke to death.
%%%%%
Not entirely true! She does not choke on her saliva or need suctioning for secretions in her throat. Judge Greer wrote into his ruling that she MAY not be given anything by mouth. He wrote a death sentence that no murderer in America would ever get.
Personally I feel this whole situation is just truly awful. But out of honor and respect for my husband, who feels the same as supposedly Terri does, I would fight forever against his family, who feels like the Schlinder's as the same as Michael.
Do you have children?
Swallowing your own saliva is not medically the same as taking water or food.
I have no idea. Difference in response of people to situations is expected I guess, but my daughter wouldn't have still been around to insert a tube into.
have him prepare a living will and there will be no fights. it is the prudent thing to do. it should NEVER come down to undocumented hearsay if there is a dispute.
Oh, I agree. I just wonder why people who support Schiavo never ask themselves about what happens if they should find out he lied.
Um, what's that about? Has it really sunk this low on FR?
its a little too late for that isn't it?
Not doing a very good job!
So do I. Seeing posters making personal attacks at people whom they have seemingly gotten along with in the past is indeed sad. Words are being said that can't be taken back when this is all said and done.
Couldn't resist adding Terri's sister's comments....huh?
And the churches filled with priests that are CHILD MOLESTERS!!
Right up to the pope, it was swept under the rug for DECADES!!
All that surfacing has really hurt the Catholic churches.
i was addressing you as you said you would fight your inlaws. have your husband prepare a living will.
catholic bashing will truly earn your opinion alot of respect here. /sarcasm
That independent doctor reported there was no hope for her recovery.
Wolfson said that after examining her medical records, spending time with Terri Schiavo and consulting with experts nationwide, he, too, believes she is ina persistent vegetative state.
But even in his report to the courts, Wolfson wrote of the difficulties in reaching that conclusion, noting Terri Schiavo's "presence" when he was around her.
"Her eyes are not shut, she's breathing on her own and she makes noises," he said. "You want so much to say, 'Terri, give me a sign!' It's not a cucumber lying in a bed.
"The two sides were close to a deal when Michael Schiavo backed out, Wolfson said, saying he couldn't agree to anything Wolfson proposed because it came under the auspices of "Terri's Law," which Michael Schiavo was challenging as unconstitutional.
Yes, sadly.
Follow the posts back and you'll see.
Although she backtracked a bit after I posted that.
I may have him do that... but if the law is such that I can legally speak for him then that should be legally sufficient should it not?
Three daughters-in-law.
