The Iraqi Secretary of State to the governorships kidnapped

Removal of 10 bodyguards of an Iraqi minister who is healthy and except
BAGHDAD - Ten guards of the cabinet of the Iraqi Secretary of State to the governorships Waël Abdel Latif were removed Sunday, according to the ministry for the Interior, but the minister himself was not kidnapped, confirmed his entourage.
"A 16h35 (13h35 GMT), ten guards armed with the minister were removed in Wahda, to 30 km in the south of Baghdad, whereas they returned from al Basra", more in the south, according to a source with the ministry for the Interior.
"Fifteen police cars received the order to go immediately on the spot and an American air support was requested", added this source, which specified that the police force had turned back before achieving its goal, for lack of air support.
According to the principal private secretary of the Secretary of State, Abou Hassan Al-Basri, "this information (on a removal of Mr. Abdel Lative case) is without base", specifying that its chief "never left Baghdad Sunday".
Another member of the cabinet of the minister, Ali Ahmad Taha, contradicted information on this removal, informant that "Mr. Waël did not leave Baghdad and that its guards are healthy and safe".
But the source with the ministry for the Interior maintained its information on the removal of the guards of Mr. Abdel Latif.
A source with the ministry for the Interior in the Iraqi capital had initially reported that the convoy of Mr. Abdel Latif, who came from al Basra, had been attacked whereas it was to 30 km in the south of Baghdad and being without news of him.
