Considering he won't allow her to receive the last rights of the church.
Uh, doubt she'll respond too favorably to ANYONE after 4 days of no food and water. How come Michael didn't extend said invitation last week?
There is too much hate,
discontent, misinformation,
outright lies and total hysteria
for me to participate.
I pray not for a specific outcome,
but only for God's will to be done and it shall.
***How dare you talk about someone you know nothing about.***
Dear Hildy, What is it that you know about MS that makes you defend him so?
OK. But I'm not aware that he hid it or lied about it. Did he?
Secondly, since you brought up this specific case, two others besides Michael testified under oath that Terri told them the same thing she told Michael. One of them was her best friend, Joan.
So, I ask you. Does this change your thinking on what Terri wants? Do you now support the removal of the feeding tube?
If not, may I ask why not?
What, the Larry King interview? Sure, Michael claimed that he had no idea if Terri wanted him to care for her or if she wanted her parents to care for her.
So what? He always knew and never forgot that Terri wouldn't want to live in a vegetative state. How does a person forget something like that?
So what, he lied once or the other time.
What Michael doesn't seem to understand is that it wouldn't make one bit of difference to the President. He'd probably hold Terri's hand and talk to her, just on the off chance that she can hear him, even if she can't respond. President Bush knows that Terri has worth as a child of God, no matter how little she responds, and no one has the right to starve her to death. She has not hurt or killed anyone, yet she gets fewer rights than those on death row anywhere in this country.
"So, I ask you. Does this change your thinking on what Terri wants? Do you now support the removal of the feeding tube?
If not, may I ask why not?"
No, I do not believe a person should be killed on flimsy hearsay evidence.
Me neither.
But in this case, Michael took it to a court of law where an independent, disinterested third party reviewed the evidence from both sides, listened to sworn testimony from both sides (including cross examinations), then made an informed and legal decision.
Judge Greer of the Circuit Court for Pinellas County ruled that there was clear and convincing evidence that Terri Schiavo would not have wanted a feeding tube.
Now, does that make a difference to you? Does that change your mind?
