Actually liked that one. Outsourcing to places like India is terrible. They have no clue about customer service.

As soon as I hear the Indian accent, I tell them I only talk to Americans and then I hang up.

I have no patience with this issue.

By the way, who is Doonesbury? Isn't he that un-American aging hippie jerk? So why all of a sudden is he so pro-American? Didn't know he still did a cartoon.

'Doonesbury' is just one of the imaginary characters in this old and stale cartoon series.

It is scribbled by GARY Trudeau, (no relation to Pierre Trudeau, but he should have been) whose 14.5 minutes of fame was over back in the 70's. But like most America-hating leftists, Trudeau keeps on scribbling, in the same way that heroin addicts keep on with the mainlining until the day they finally croak off.

Many newspapers moved Trudeau's cartoons to the editorial pages because

a.) they're seldom funny

b.) they are almost ALWAYS political, not to mention

c.) in poor taste.

That about sums it up.

I don't get you. For decades, Washington has been pressuring India to open up its economy and turn away from socialism. They succeed - the Indian economy is more open than ever before - and now Americans start complaining about it. This is what America has always stood for - the spread and growth of free markets, increasing opportunity for American companies and consumers. I don't understand why so many so-called conservatives have a problem with outsourcing.

This is what America is all about. Live with it, or move to a country with socialist policies.

"So why all of a sudden is he so pro-American?"

No, he's just pro-socialism, like everyone else who has a problem with free markets and outsourcing.

If they did a job this well I'd say let um have it.
Alas, it's not the case. Although I don't think they could do any worse having the other half of my (Missing) Sunday paper delivered.

"You haven't lost your job yet apparently."

I hear ya, the manufacturing and assembly work at my comp has started the exodus. All the 50 year olds are freaking. (As they should) Who is going to hire these low skilled laborers?
If they are lucky they can perfect either "Welcome to Walmart" or "Would you like fries with that?"

BTW, do you ever sleep?

Actually, it's too bad we can't outsource all these jobs to Mexico. Then people would have less reason to come here in order to make a living.

Oh, well - at least this way we prevent having all those illegal East Indians walking into this country.

Doonesbury should be outsourced to a cartoonist that can actually draw a funny strip.

Congrats Race, I hope it all goes well for you.
Who would have thought the IT field would be difficult to land a job in.
I don't have to remind you about the so called shortage .(Not all that long ago)
At least you still have a marketable skill, I'm in Quality and that Dinosaur is about to become extinct.

You don't get it? From your own words - Washington and Americans is not exactly the same thing.

This is what America has always stood for - the spread and growth of free markets, increasing opportunity for American companies and consumers.

Not exactly - America was about representative government, Constitution, national interest etc ... And it involved a fair degree of protectionism for most of US history. The attempt to change America into a global borderless market is a very recent thing.

Congratulations, Race!

Yeah, I was unemployed for a year and a half after 9/11, things are only just starting to look up. I think my daughter and I met you at the anti-UN rally in NY a few years ago
