For the first six months a baby is quite helpless and must be cared for mush like a PVS patient. I don't think babies have much problem being babies. When you compare the level of care of a baby to Terri Schiavo, there is not much difference. Do we call for a withdrawal of the feeding teat the first time the baby shows discomfort and cries?

It could very well come to that, the criteria being whether the baby is still wanted or not, and if the cause of the crying is due to some genetic defect not caught and gotten rid of pre-birth, then there will be a selection process because we little gods have to make this world perfect, and defectives need not apply.

Eventually legally blind people will be inducted into the selection process . . .

Everybody has a genetic imperfection. I guess the last one to go will have to off their own lights.

It won't go that far. I'm being sarcastic.
