Just heard on Fox that U.S. Senate will convene today in emergency session regarding Terri Schiavo.
Wow, and you have not eaten in a whole day! Imagine that.
Not far off at all.
In order to make the abortion industry work, those who stood to make money from it first had to make it somehow noble -- "A Woman's Right To Choose!" -- and remove the guilt from it.
Methinks they're following a similar public relations path with the euthanasia industry.
Err...How can we be sure you're NOT M. Schiavo?
You're making his arguments pretty well.
What's this business about "de novo". I'm off to look for that thread.
MRS is a public figure. Can he sue us for libel? He might be able to show malice by some of us, but "reckless disregard for the truth," no. We have been meticulous is trying to present the truth, even quickly correcting errors in our own posts where he find them.
But I can't stop, nor will I ever try to stop people from making faulty assumptions. It is their right!
First of all, Saundra, I admire your commitment to fasting. God Bless you. I wish I had your strength.
You know, it's funny (well, not really), earlier I posted that I was "about to go to the store and wanted to check FR first."
My first, unedited post was that I had to go to the grocery store. Suddenly I realized that putting the word "grocery" in my post seemed incredibly, I don't know, unseemly, unfair, just not right.
I can hop in the minivan and head off to the grocery for food or even bottled water, while there is a woman being murdered in this inhuman way. So I just said, "store."
"I couldn't believe some of the callers I just heard on C-Span. The monsters!! They are demented. Evil."
I didn't hear them but I can guess what they said. I can only hope and pray that they are speaking like that out of ignorance. I think, if the facts became known to the public, that they would not be so in favor of letting Terri die.
The problem is, most people see this as a personal family decision between husband and wife and they don't understand why the Congress is getting involved. And I do think that the Congresspeople, and President Bush, who are doing this understand that there may be a political cost, because of the pure media-fed ignorance of most of the American public.
But they're working to save Terri anyway. Tom Delay said President Bush would "enthusiastically" (or something like that) sign the bill.
This, despite polls that indicate most people support Michael Schiavo.
De Novo means the case starts afresh in federal court and is not burdened down by the errors and omissions of one George W. Greer. Of course, Terri must live for the case to go federal. And of course the House and Senate may yet default. It's always a safe bet to bet against poor Terri's prospects.
You didn't disagree with my original post and tell me why. You just gave me a sarcastic, I guess they can't do anything right.
Your calling me foolish, stupid, and uninformed life is not kind. It quite figures.
No.
Following Göbles lead, the popular media has diligently parroted the phrase "Persistent Vegetative State", despite irrefutable evidence to the contrary. The little monsters you hear parroting this have not looked at the facts like a FReeper would. They've allowed themselves to be spoonfed information without analyzing. Dr. Gambone himself ADMITTED that he made that diagnoses "because Michael asked me to", and obviously for the purpose of allowing Terri admittance to a Hospice. She does not belong in Hospice.
Most on FR who want Terri dead point to the court and to Judge Greer, and don't see the fishiness - how the 1991 bone scan was deemed by Greer as "interesting" but irrelevant. Excuse me? How DID Terri enter her state? The eating disorder/heart attack story doesn't hold water in light of the other circumstantial evidence (esp. pertaining to Michael's character, with a new "wife", kids, Terri's sister afraid of Michael, Michael "remembering" Terri's "wish" to refuse "life support" after getting $1.2M).
The evidence is there. Everybody sees it, except those who don't want to. They see A) Terri is no vegetable, and B) Michael's motives are rooted in Michael's interests, not Terri's.
Keep praying. I'm looking for more Capitol Hill folks to e-mail.
very perceptive. First, see it as mercy. Then see it as the person's obligation to do for their family...Plently of money to be made in easing people on...
Yes, but most people do not know the facts of the case. It takes hours of work to find out, and the American people won't devote the time and care required to learn the facts.
Let me see if I can find that thread again. I'll be back. BTW, didn't thank you the other day for your kind words regarding my deceased brother.
There's a very simple explanation for any with a heart to recognize the truth. It isn't hard to see who is on whose side.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6)
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. (John 10:10)
Which court declared Michael a public figure and removed his right to sue for either slander or libel?
No; actually, he borrowed money from Terri's parents to pay for it.
I have noticed over the years that people who do wrong are very defensive about their wrongdoing, and they would like for others to adopt their life-styles!
I was talking to this guy about Terri and he said, "Would YOU want to live like that?" I was shocked. I said, "She responds to her mother. And NO, I would NOT want to be starved to death!" He shut up. But you're right about people being stupid about Terri. Dumb as doors. Sheeeeesh.
Well, I can't disagree with you on that.
