Hildy's the one who "came clean" (or is it the opposite?) with her use of the phrase.

Harkin is poltical grandstanding and he's not being completely honest

The Dems wouldn't agree to the House version of the Bill

Santorum is talking now

Well, you sure put that succinctly.

All I'm saying was that I read some shrink's opinion on the topic. Maybe it was Freud, I don't remember. But it seemed plausible to me.

I wasn't speaking of Congressional subpoenas. I'm talking about about the legislation Congress will pass Sunday or Monday which will give the Federal Court jurisdiction to consider whether killing Terri is constitutional.

Once a federal judge has that jurisdiction, he would have to be senile not to issue a temporary order to re-insert the feeding tube, because the court must preserve the status quo, i.e., must stop the killing while considereing whether killing Terri is constitutional.

Why pbrown, there's nothing to it, thirst don't mean thing! According to her dutiful dude, the only other death more pleasant is by anuerism (sp?). Just ask him, he had to pull the plug on his parents, too. What are the chances of anyone having to pull the plug three times in their life? You tell me.

Color me not in MS's corner AT ALL!

If you are going to talk about another Freeper....please ping them so they can defend themselves....OK?

BTW.....why the attacks aimed at Hildy....Hildy is only expressing his/her opinion......and since when is that a crime on FR that you have to call all your buddies to pile on?

>>This judge will never back down.

We'll be lucky if that's the worst of it. He has the power, right now, to authorize the hospice to terminate Terri's life by an overdose of drugs. He may not wait for Monday, and in fact it's in his best interest to make the whole dispute moot. May God protect her!

Harkin refuses to leave. He has to stay in the picture frame, even while he's been fighting against the Santorum faction.

There is no level to which you will stoop to make a point. First you imply that someone who disagrees with you has a secret fettish with crap and then have the nerve to bring up the fact that she had to "pull the plug" on a loved one. You and your kind are no better than the "pro-death" group you slander.

Boy that was kind of a let-down--I don't know what I was expecting, but something more exciting--

Before I turned back to c-span, though, I watched the first few minutes of The Beltway Boys and Mort and Fred were REALLY intensely disagreeing over this case--

Fred calls it killing Terri and Mort calls it "letting her die"---hm,,,,it is a good thing they are good friends, it was pretty intense--

Kondracke is a selfish bastard in my judgment after all he went through with Milly. He may think his situation was special, but not that of Terri.

Sorry, thought I had pinged her. My mistake on that one (though I must say that post was pretty inconsequential).

And btw, Hidly has been ferocious in attacking others on this and many other past threads. Many of her posts about Terri are pure ad hominem venom. Most of her purported facts about Terri are flat-out wrong.

De Novo- Anew. Afresh. Considering the matter anew as if it had not been heard before and if as no decision has been rendered. Such a review is independent. http://www.lectlaw.com/def/d010.htm

I have an even better question; since I haven't not gone on the Terri threads except a few times, did I miss the notice that Jim Robinson sent out saying that it was okay to openly discuss other Freepers behind their back, without ever pinging them to give them a chance to defend themselves?
