You don't want to see white anything in your CAT scan. Does that mean all of that area in the middle is brain? I heard there wasn't any at all, like most people.

That dark area shaped like a butterfly is fluid build up. Everything around that area shaped like a dark butterfly is the brain.

I've had both CAT (soft tissue) and MRI (bone) scans of my head, because I was supposed to have these two done for a possible cochlear implant. I can tell you that the CAT scan of my head wasn't as dark as Terri's scan. There shouldn't be a dark butterfly shaped area missing at all.
