ORLANDO, Fla. -- An agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency was been suspended after video surfaced showing the man shooting himself during a gun safety class in front of a group of Orlando fourth-graders, according to Local 6 News.
An investigation has been launched to determine who leaked the home video of the undercover DEA agent shooting himself at an event sponsored by the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association.
Before the shooting, the agent was videotaped talking about how certain weapons are popular with rap artists.
"This is a Glock 40," the agent said on the tape. "Fifty Cent, Too Short, all of them talk about a Glock 40, OK?," he said. "I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of to carry this Glock 40."
Seconds later, the agent shot himself in the foot.
"See how that accident happened, that could happen to you and you could be blown away," the agent said after the shooting.
Experts in the field said that the undercover agent should never have been videotaped because it could put the agent's life at risk, Local 6 News reported.
"It puts a lot of undercover agents in jeopardy if their faces are videotaped," the masked agent told Local 6 News. "His identity is burned. His identity is known as a police officer and its a potential personal safety hazard to himself as well as his family members."
The video of the shooting is posted on several Web sites on the Internet. The video shows the shooting and the agent's face.
Local 6 News did not show the entire video of the shooting because the undercover officer could be identified in some of the shots.

Whoever released that video did the Nation a great service by exposing such utter stupidity on the federal level.
Of course, I agree with you on the Marine Corps being #1.
That IS what you were getting at, wasn't it? *back at you*
Semper Fi.
Amazing that the supposed dangerous act here is alledgedly videotaping the event.........ROTFLMAO !
One more fiasco brought upon the masses by the WOD gone wild ! If this POS idiots ID was so secretive he shouldn't be doing dog and pony shows for the sheeple. Screw these idgits ......they are a joke ! They were a joke when I was tasked to work with em in the service and later as a LEO. Stooopid acts like this establish their status as the biggest wart on the DOJ's Butt.
I also use Wilson mags in my Kimber "Eclipse Target II" 1911A1 .45cal ACP. My Glock 32/ .357 SIG hasn't seen the light of day since I bought the Kimber.
same question here. i would think an orphan round in the chamber would have fallen out when he waved the gun around with the slide open. my best guesses: 1. the ejector didn't work when he pulled the slide back esp if he did it slowly, and the round fell back in the chamber (if it did fall in so easily, why not out also?) 2. he put what he thought was an empty magazine in for realism, and it was hot. others???
any problems with the Kimber safety snagging and requiring more than thumb pressure to move???
Personally I think his arrogance and the resulting accident was God's way of dealing out a slap down.
Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing.
Proverbs 16:18 (King James Version):
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
That poor guy is going to be the butt of jokes for as long as he works for them.
BTTT
I'm not familiar with that model Kimber. Is it a full size 1911? A dedicated target model perhaps?
I carry a Glock 17 as a street gun, because it has 17+1, and the neighorhoods I have to drive through, you never know when you might need all 17 rounds.
Saying that, I could be persuaded to use my tax refund to buy one of those ultra small Kimbers..
Even if there were a magazine with a live round in it, the simplest of safety checks would have prevented a ND! In fact, if these weapons were to be brought into a classroom full of children it would have been easy enough to disable them completely so that they could not possibly fire. It's just plain stupid.. and the anti-gunners will be playing this video for years... it's sad really..

I had the misfortune to have an LEO conducting a Pennsylvania CCW class I was attending (You need either an LEO or a lawyer conduct the "what is the applicable law" segment, so most of the time an LEO does the whole thing).
After removing mag and ejecting the chambered round in his duty gun, he proceeded to demonstrate a point which had him sweeping the entire class with the muzzle of his gun. I was not happy.
I have a nice Galco inside-waistband holster for my Glock. It snaps onto my belt, so to put the gun away I just unsnap the holster from the belt, and transfer the holstered gun into the gun safe
Have you watched the tape? It looked to me like he shot himself in the thigh, and just missed taking himself out of the gene pool.
If he hadn't been a cop, I would have.
Exactly. And wasn't he wearing a "DEA AGENT" t-shirt?
Maybe that was his disguise.
Who'd believe that he really was a trained professional LEO? LOL
:->
I was wondering when someone was going to comment on the fact that it was loaded. It's bad enough that he brought it there in the first place... oooo... aaahhhh... look at the gang-banger pistol. But to have a bullet in it too is beyond moronic. And I agree with others. That they are lamenting his video was taken is just rediculous.
"It looked to me like he shot himself in the thigh,..."
Well, I did watch the tape, it's actually not of too good quality. And as with all such things, the audio is the worst part. But he seems to hold up pretty good after his self-inflicted injury, and you don't see any blood. I doubt he could do so well if he'd shot himself in the thigh. It's a little surprising there isn't more of a reaction. Something along the lines of "OK that's the end of the safety lesson. Let's get the nice officer some medical attention." I'd say it makes me wonder if there were other adults present, but of course you can see the assistants clearly.
I tell you, if I were a parent of one of those kids, I'd be raising hell.
