If I weighed 500 pounds, I wouldn't consider myself lucky. :)
I've met him before, on Maui. He's a super nice guy, a gentle giant type.
The Japanese are very big on Rice.
That second photo is hilarious! That is a big hug and he could pick her up like a doll. LOL
I wonder if Konishiki is a stockholder in the new Japanese gum?

"The Japanese are very big on Rice." LOL
We finally have a GOP-friendly answer to Michael Moore.
Very good.
heck, he almost looks skinny compared to his prime stomping days, must be the outfit. ;-)
"heck, he almost looks skinny ... must be the outfit. ;-)"
Any man would look better next to lovely Condi!
Konishiki is Hawaiian.
From Hawaii but he took Japanese citizenship a few years back, I believe. But I don't think the comment was meant to be about him (solely).
She may decline, but in another year, Condi could rule the world!
I feel like Grasshopper....
Sorry. I was under the assumption that he was referring to ethnicity. In either case I was wrong... He's actually Samoan aka Salevaa Atisanoe.
Hey, thanks for the pictures of Akebono. Condi knows her sumo. While Konishiki was a star, Akebono was DA MAN. Gotta love a woman who likes sumo.
That's true and is a really important part of his identity to him.
You're most welcome.
I used to watch the tournaments on Japanese TV a long time ago when I was on the Rock.. and years later.
To most folks, it's just some big fellars in diapie-wraps bumping and grinding and grunting,, but there is an art and a regimen and hierarchy within the sport that has its roots going back a long way.
The caloric intake is horrendous to sustain the weight needed to really toss fellars around and out of the ring.
He's from Hawaii....
