It's for the children.
Helmets next.
The nanny state in action. My dd didn't weigh more than 80 lbs until late 5th grade - age 11. They think she should have been in a booster seat at age 11 ? Fat chance of that.
I can't tell you the number of kids I see either unrestrained or unsafely restrained.
LOL I wouldnt have fit into a booster seat at 9.
The funny part is, from the time of my 9th birthday to my 11th birthday I was growing a lot. At 11, I was 5'10 and weighed nearly 180 lbs....
I'm sure some enterpising company will make something that will fit. Lap belts that go across the stomach instead of the pelvic girdle, and/or shoulder belts that go across the neck instead of the sternum are not safe.
The nanny state is getting out of hand. I wonder who is getting money from the booster seat industry?
This is the nanny state. Same as those enuchs who want all kids under 18 to wear bicyle helmets. When I was a kid I would have thrown the helmet in the river.
I put the belt behind my head pretty often.
the lap belt was always in the right place...
Really?
All this for private cars, yet kids ride without any seatbelts at all on school buses.
Why are seat belt not required obn school buses? Because it would cost the government too much money. But its ok for private cictizens to pony up.
Hypocrites.
just put 'em in straight jackets until their old enough to be chained to a machine in the workplace.
Well, I still say it's a pro-life position :)
Thank you, Masters. May I have another?
Childhood obesity ROCKS!
Obviously somebody who A. does not have a 9 year old and B. somebody bribed by the seat makers.
My petite daughter needs the booster seat --- and she is the driver. Why don't they jusy lower the shoulder belts so that they fit five foot people? And tone the air bag bombs the same way? For smaller people with a seat on instead of a large UNstrapped person.
and bullet proof vests for driving thru blue/dem controlled cities.
"At 11, I was 5'10 and weighed nearly 180 lbs"
Holy Moly...I wouldn't want to meet you in a dark alley.
Not when you're forcing it on others. Make your own decisions and leave others to make theirs.
nah I was an uncoordinated kid then...
good in baseball and thats about it :)
