Save Our Courts

Dear Kevin,

Sign our petition and protect free speech in the Senate!

www.democrats.org/freespeech

Governor Howard Dean wrote to you this week about the threat to free speech in the Senate. Nearly 200,000 of us immediately weighed in against the Republican push to throw away the rules and principles of our democracy. We won't let them pack our courts with lifetime appointments for right-wing extremists.

The massive reaction helped beat back this power grab this week, but this is not over.

They reportedly plan to keep pressing over the next few weeks until a showdown in April. One Republican Senator was quoted yesterday saying, "I think it is imminent. At some point we are going to have this fight, and I am ready."

Please sign this petition to protect your right to be heard:

The fringe Republican leadership has not only lost touch with reality, they have lost touch with democracy.

For our system to work everyone has to believe in certain core values. But Republicans continually abandon those values to win at any cost.

They fanatically pursue their agenda by any means -- undermining free speech, governing by lies and distortions, even keeping people away from the voting booth. This pattern is no accident.

Only you can stop them:

Thank you for committing to stop this power grab. And thank you for believing in our democracy.

Sincerely, Save Our Courts Campaign

And, where were you 200,000 when the the Florida Supreme Court usurped the State Constitution during the Presidential election of 2000, hmm?

Actions speak louder than lying, rat words

"They fanatically pursue their agenda by any means..."

I believe they call that 'mirroring' when you believe everyone else does things the way you do. Apparently, their minds just cannot conceive of or accept defeat. But hey, I feel their pain. Been there, done that, for over 40 years. 1992 and 1996 are fresh in my memory.

Flaming [B]arbra [S]treisand, all, but it does emphsize a point. We must, in response, label them and all their supporters as "left wing extremists!" And, who could be more left-wing or extreme than they who want to champion free speech by filabustering the attempted debate for nominations.

It is ESSENTIAL that we hang on Hillie every shred of this left wing extremism!

Hang obstructionism and filibustering on HRC, Kerry, Heid, and any D senator you may have at every opportunity. Use their quotes about bipartisanship and working together for America against them.

These people wouldn't know a core value if it walked up and bit them on the behind.

The DNC delivered to Democrats in Congress more than 216,000 signatures on our petition to protect Social Security.

Nearly 200,000 of us immediately weighed in against the Republican push to ... pack our courts.

I wonder if these signatures actually exist ... If they do, I wonder if they're the same signatures (like on a giant rubber stamp). Oh, there I go again ... so skeptical ... shame on me.

Shame on me too. That was my immediate thought.

200,000 out of 280 MILLION Americans.

Somebody do the math - I'm too lazy - see my tagline.

Somebody do the math

I always have my calculator near when reading FR, but this decimal is so small my calculator can't handle it. The best I can tell it is seven one thousandths of one percent. If you throw out the illegals, felons, and multiple signers the percent falls precipitously.

That's kinda what I thought.

I couldn't care less what the homos want and they make up 1-2% of the population, depending on which survey you choose to believe.

What makes the Rats think we care that seven one thousandths of the population think - expecially when they are treasonous Rats?

The democrats have held the court appointments hostage for an entire presidential term.

The minority party has gotten away with their judicial blockade for four years and I am really worried (convinced) that they will control the majority party for another four years.
