Boris Johnson has wobbled significantly about the invasion of Iraq with the lack of W.M.D. discoveries; yet the attitude expressed here (especially in the final paragraph) is spot-on. An uncompromising statement of the necessity of continuing this job until it is finished.

"Having started this operation, whatever its faults, we have a moral duty to help see it through. If that means sending more British troops to make up for the Italian deficiency, we may have to do it - and there would be many brave Brits in Iraq who would agree."
