Could you elaborate more on what you're excited about?
I'm puzzled.

Huh? Judicial Nominee William Myers was approved on a 10-8 party-line vote in the commitee. This is the first of seven judges W re-sent who dems blocked over the past two years.

10-8 on a party-line vote. Still needs to get past the full Senate, and Reid is planning on maintaining the "filibuster" against Bush appointees.

Myers is a judicial pick of the President's. He was passed out of the Judicial committee with a 10-8 party line vote. He's scheduled for a full floor vote right after Easter.
What this means is that in short order we are going to find out if the Reps are going to bust the filibuster.

March 17 (Bloomberg) -- A U.S. Senate committee today approved the first of seven judicial nominees by President George W. Bush that Democrats blocked in the last two years, setting up a confrontation on the Senate floor.
William G. Myers III was cleared on a 10-8 party line vote by the Senate Judiciary Committee for a seat on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals based on San Francisco. Democrats accused Myers, a former lobbyist for mining companies who also served as Interior Department solicitor, of holding extreme views on environmental laws.

Isn't Myers the guy Spector, (Rino-PA) wanted to go first because he was the least controversial and therefore most likely to pass w/o a filibuster?

Woo hooo! The left has been trying to undermine the nation via the courts for 50-odd years. Now that we've finally figured things out, it's time to start kicking some liberal butt.
The true "progressives" in this country are not the people trying to impose an atheistic, hedonistic ideology from the mid-19th century (Marxism), but those of us who truly believe in freedom without license, less-intrusive government, strict interpretation of the Constitution, low taxes, small buisness, and the advance of civilization via reason and science, tempered by religious convictions.

We are going to see a bright flash coming from the East as the Socialist Democrats melt in its wake.
When they were in power the Nuclear Option was a great idea, and they said so long and loud.
They are going to eat those words now!!!!!!!

I think the Republicans should delay voting on any Judges for at least a month. In the meantime, they should bring up every bill that favors the President's agenda. Leave only bills on government spending, defense, etc. The, bring the judicial nominees to the floor and let Dumby Harry (a man with about as much charisma as a dead cat) shut down the government with the spending, defense, etc. bills hanging out there.
Seriously, there is no hurry here. If anythiing, waiting a bit takes adavantage of the MSM's short attention span and would absolutely, totally and completely drive the Dems nuts. Oh the suffering!!!
To: oldenuff2no
What is this "Nuclear Option" of which you speak? Do you mean the "Constitutional Option" whereby judicial nominees are confirmed or denied confirmation by a simple majority vote as provided by the Constitution. That option?
