This site is a good answer to the statement that I hear from so many recent graduates from Maine Public schools "But Castro loves his people". Someone up here is doing a fine job brain washing these young people.

When Castro dies, we should take over the island temporaly if need be.

I guess you would call this "classic socialist architecture".

The best ones:
Here's the floor of the Emergency Room at the Clínico Quirúrgico in Havana.
The toilet.
The ceiling.
And the floor.

So compared to the average Cuban, how bad do our "enemy combatants" in Guantanamo really have it?

A lot of our inner cities already DO look like that...but then again, I guess you could say that you rest your case, correct?

That was a famous photo at one time. Now days the media prefers to repeat photos from the Viet Nam War that alleges American war crime.

Where do they get spare parts for all of those 1950's cars?
I know the Soviets pirated a lot of our car and truck design, even the engines were exactly the same so there are times you could replace your piston in a Dodge's engine with a Soviet one of the same exact design. Cars and trucks like Packard, GM, and Dodge/Chrysler were favorited to be pirated by the Soviets. I'm sure there is a huge underground market for aftermarket parts as well.

A friend of mine spent a month in Cuba two years ago and thought it the greatest place in the world. He pretty much shrugged off the fact that people were willing to go into a raft, brave the shark-infested Caribbean Sea and hope INS won't send them back.

Bagdad looks better. Castro has done to Cuba what we could have done with bombs.

You pay to get out of a hospital like that. "Take what you want, just let me go home so I can heal!"

Could you tell about that photo so that I can catalog it on my PC. I'd appreciate any info you can provide.
To: oyez
This is incredibly sad.
I have a dish rather than cable TV, & one of the channels is called FSTV (Free Speech TV) & it's WAY beyond liberal...I'd call it a bunch of socialist/pro-communists ne'er do wells. But anyway, before the Dim Convention in Boston, they interviewed Rep. Dennis Kucinich, & was begging him to open up US relations w/ Cuba & were blaming America for their troulbes. Totally disgusting.
