Boy howdy! The state couldn't get a murder charge to stick on a racial slaying here maybe 15 years back, and the federal prosecutor popped the perp on "denying the victims their civil rights by killing them." They won the conviction.

The fed penalty for an ex-con posessing a weapon is tougher than the state... you guessed it. Project Exile to the rescue.

Blakely *might* have told them all that, but remember that she was resentful of him, and she also had to know she had made other dangerous enemies.

She would probably prefer people think she was killed by him, if she got killed, so she would come off as a martyr.

It's also - the 3 counts tended to contradict each other - giving the impression of just trying way too hard to put him behind the murder.

As for celebrity... it means nothing to me or the ones I know - at all.
I just don't see real evidence in this case.
