District Attorney Lynne M. Abraham vowed that her office will protect witnesses, even if it means sending a moving van to their home to take them to safety the day they come forward.

“We cannot only move you out of the city, we can move you out of the state; we can move you across the country,” Abraham said.

Within the past eight days there have been 21 homicides in Philadelphia, including three in the late-night and early morning hours after the prosecutor made her appeal Monday.

What is the USA's plan to pull ALL troops out of Philly? This is 958 deaths (annualized), almost equal to our troop's death in Iraq!

We're trying to work out a deal to get UN peacekeepers, but all children will have to leave first.

I understand your point, but that is like sayting I smash my thumb 365 times a year because I did it once on saturday.

Maybe taking last years overall statistic might be a better approach.

They have bullet-proof moving vans?

Do we know what section of Philly the majority of these have happened in? Could it the Democrat areas? Will PA be in play now with less blue voters? LOL

They should start by firing the police department, everyone in the DA's office, and all of the judges and starting over from scratch. Sure, there would be some collateral damage to some innocent folks, but that is the only way to root out the endemic corruption in a place like Philly.

Maybe you should consider doing that to the PERPETRATORS, not the witnesses...

On WMAL yesterday the host Michael Graham stated that:

1) Over 50% of African-American males in Baltimore are either in jail or on probation.

Over 69% of African-American babies are born illegitimately.

The statements were born out of the topic the Kwaze Infume, former head of the NAACP, the declared MD. Senate candidate has FIVE sons born out of wedlock.

Philly: 21 killings in 8 days (annualized:958/year)

Does anyone know how many of these killings were because of gamblers who didn't pay off their unfortunate bets on Philly in the Super Bowl?

Why no mention the mayor is a major 'rat? This related story buries it six paragraphs down.

"People should not be authorized to carry weapons on the streets of Philadelphia unless they have a good reason to do so," he (the mayor) said.

Sounds like a real standup, pro-second amendment kind of guy (sarcasm).

Yes, we need an immediate exit strategy from Philly. It's clearly a quagmire.

What is the population of the city? If they are losing approximately 1000 residents per year, the city will eventually be depopulated.

Can he do that (implement a moratorium on permits), given that Pennsylvania is "shall issue" (?)

May I ask? What political party is in charge of Philly and has been in charge of Philly for as long as you can remember?

Do you think the MSM would be shouting from the roof tops if the Republicans held the political power in Philly?

IIRC, last year's overall Philly murder statistic was cited in the local (Philly) press as comparable to US troop deaths in Iraq at that time.
