I am retired. Coldest I have ever been in without widchill was at Coldfoot in the Brooks Range. 85 below, there was no wind at all. Interesting how the air feels like your skin is being pinpricked. It's probably the nerves in the skin saying that they are in danger of instant flash-freezing death.

Don't know where you are, but gasoline was going for $7 in a couple remote villages where they have to fly everything in.

My friend, I lived in Nebraska, and I know conservatives. When I was there, I voted (twice) for Hagel, and now rue the days I did that. ACU rating of 85 or no, Hagel is not a conservative. He's a McCain wannabe who would sell his party out for a cheeseburger if he thought it would get him either MSM facetime or the approval of "libs who count."
I think on the subject of Up-Chuck Hagel, we will have to agree to disagree.

Oil is a limited resource If a resource is understood to be something that can be produced for less than extraction cost. Cost should be given in units of energy to be meaningful. Even coal is getting more expensive. In terms of how much energy it takes to produce a given amount of coal energy it has doubled since a couple decades ago.

Right.
Being good stewards is EXACTLY WHY we are only drilling at night, in the middle of the dead of winter, WHY we are keeping all spoils and refuse on-site, then spending millions carting them back off the bare tundra again before the ice thaws, WHY we are ONLY driving over the frozen ice at night over ice roads that won't disturb the barren ground, WHY we are ONLY drilling less than 1/2 of 1% of the available BARE EARTH ...
The enviro's are simply lying when they claim we are despoiling the wilderness up there.
In winter, there is more life in my freezer than in ANWAR.

The dirty little secret about no new refineries is, the owners of existing refineries have made damned sure no new ones get built. give me a break. I live in the oil patch. GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS and enviro nuts are the reason there aren't more refineries. Believe me, the profit motive is very strong to build more refineries.

how long before the environmentalists get a judge to throw this out? don't expect the drilling to start anytime soon, I am happy about this decision, but the left can use the courts to tie this up for years.

In winter, there is more life in my freezer than in ANWAR. That's because it is a lot warmer in your freezer.
BTW: it is ANWR, not ANWAR

So if I understand your logic correctly, those just out of high school or college, providing for their family are considered, in your class-warfare-glasses-covered eyes, your fellow Americans. If said person gets married, buys a house, grows his family and his income, this family is no longer considered to be your fellow Americans? You're still not thinking BIG enough. I know lots of folks in the seven and eight digit range. Some of it inherited, some created. More power to them. But the Kennedys, Rockefellers, Morgans, who control the CFR are most certainly not my fellow Americans. Nor do they wish to be. In fact their elitist snobbery puts them squarely at odds with free America. They are the progenitors of the nanny state currently enslaving black America. As long as they can keep the poor in poverty and the middle class striving to meet the tax burden they themselves avoid, and folks like you defending them, they are well on the way to control. Remember....it's ALL about control.

Does anyone have a accurate map of the Middle east, and a map of Alaska, and in some way superimpose it .
I like to compare the land mass of Alaska to the middle east.
