Our twin girls are Lauren Michelle & Mallory Lena. They are 12 now, and I really won't mind their teen years. I just hope they like boys.

Congratulations from a father of twins....

No particular name suggestions, just give your daughters names that have meanings to you and your wife....My son is named after his great-grandfathers and my daughter is named after her great-grandmother and great-great grandmother....

Two things to remember with twins....

1. Twice stressed, but twice blessed!

2. What is a toy to a single child is a weapon to a twin....

Relax now....you are going to need your rest when your twins get here!

Awww you're so lucky..congrats! When I was pregnant for my third child the doc. said "you're so big, you must be having twins"...after an ultrasound he says "nope, there's only one, but it's a girl"...I was disappointed not to be having twins but I got all my daughters pink things out, decorated the baby's room all girly and pink...had the name "Madeline" (Maddie) picked out..a few months later, I gave birth to a big fat, strapping BOY! He's now 14..6 feet, 230 lbs and his dream is to be in the NFL..we shall see! Good luck, and God bless you and your family!

No matter what you call 'em, people are gonna get 'em mixed up...
So why not just give 'em the same name and save a lot of confusion?

Oh, and whatever you eventually decide on, be sure to tell the Mrs. that you got the idea off of FreeRepublic.  She'll really like that.

I can't believe it...nobody said Mary-Kate and Ashley (just joking) My wife's a twin, and her and her sister's names are Janet and Janice.

congrats to you and your wife! I second what many have already said on this thread - go with traditional names. There are so many beautiful feminine names for girls; don't name your daughters something androgynous sounding like MacKenzie or Hunter (this is a tragic trend these days). If I were so blessed to have twin daughters some day I would go with the names Emma and Claire. Beatrix and Madeleine are also favorites of mine.

Name one after each grandmother. You won't have trendy names, you will make each grandmother and each grandfather happy, and each you will acquire more appreciation for your mother-in-law when you have a kid named after her.

Congratulations.

Congratulations! How exciting. Prayers on the way.

As per naming, just a few caveats I've gathered on the way. I have a number of friends who are twins, curiously enough. No matching names like Jean and Jane (really variations on the same name). Check the initials to make sure they don't spell things that will guarantee teasing for years to come. And check the overall sound of the name. 'Wear' it for a week or so (prior to their birth). I have had a number of students whose names are awkward sounding or sound like other words. Most notably - one poor boy's full name, when said together quickly, sounded like the word 'awful'. Most of all, enjoy your girls, they grow up so quickly!
