I can't believe it...nobody said
Mary-Kate and Ashley (just joking) My wife's a twin, and her and her sister's names are Janet and Janice.

I have three kids: Two girls who are 21 and 19 and a son who is 17. I have discovered that there is nothing in the world meaner than a 15 year old girl and nothing in the world dumber than a 15 year old boy.
They do improve though.

I have 3 girls, we are just now out of the teen years. We've survived!
To: Indy Pendance
we are just now out of the teen years I'm assuming you mean the girls and not you and your spouse. :^)

Girls Huh? Darn it. I had a great idea for a set of noy twins -"Pete and Repeat". LOL!!!
Just kidding! CONGRATULATIONS and we pray that everybody stays healthy.

These are the girl names he liked: Tiffany
Savannah
Dakota
Cheyenne
or Shannon (which is pretty but with our Greek last name sounded like a disease). Wow! That is quite a list. Was he hoping for a little outlaw? ;-)
I think a good rule of thumb for naming girls is don't substitute Y's for I's or E's, don't put in randomly placed apostrophes, and say the potential name out loud followed by "...now appearing topless in the Diamond Room!" - if it doesn't fit with any of those criteria then you have got yourself a winner!

congrats to you and your wife! I second what many have already said on this thread - go with traditional names. There are so many beautiful feminine names for girls; don't name your daughters something androgynous sounding like MacKenzie or Hunter (this is a tragic trend these days). If I were so blessed to have twin daughters some day I would go with the names Emma and Claire. Beatrix and Madeleine are also favorites of mine.

the "supreme court rule" is a good one for naming kids, but up until recently would any one have thought we'd have a secretary of state named Condoleezza?

Another thing to remember about twins is that they are at the same stage and if you are doing for one it is easier to do the same thing, rather than have a 2 yo that has different needs. Also they always have someone to play with.
My Mother was a twin and had twin brothers as well. Lots and lots of years in between.

Name one after each grandmother. You won't have trendy names, you will make each grandmother and each grandfather happy, and each you will acquire more appreciation for your mother-in-law when you have a kid named after her.
Congratulations.
