It will certainly stop these murders tomorrow if Philly and more importantly Pennsylvania can IMMEDIATELY pass very stringent gun control measures. That way we can ensure that ONLY murders and others with illegal intent will have the guns!
What kind of fools does this Mayor Street and Rendell think we are?

A full moratorium on the issuing of gun permits? Sounds to me like they need to start handing guns out at the city limits!
The Fulton County Courthouse in Georgia, where Brian Nichols killed the deputy and the judge Friday, takes guns from cops who are coming into the courthouse and not part of courthouse security.

District Attorney Lynne M. Abraham vowed that her office will protect witnesses, even if it means sending a moving van to their home to take them to safety the day they come forward. "We cannot only move you out of the city, we can move you out of the state; we can move you across the country," Abraham said. But we are sorry, there is no way we can protect you should you want to stay in Philadelphia.

We live along the yukon and about every other person you see on the road has a rifle, shotgun, or pistol for bear protection and also spring ducks. Hasn't been a murder in 25 years and that was alcohol related.
You'd think all those PA hunters would open their mouths.

Same old, same old. You'd think the gun-grabbers could at least come up with some new lies.

"You'd think all those PA hunters would open their mouths."
Hunters don't think gun control applies to them. They think their "hunting weapons" are safe. They don't realize that a shotgun is an "anti-personnel" weapon, that their scoped 30-06 is a "sniper" weapon, and their .22 pistol is an "assassination" weapon to the grabbers.

Gosh, this may be a step forward! After all a politician suggesting a moratorium and the mention of increasing finances or who is going to pay for it, is nonexistent?
This is a revelation in itself!

The sooner they get those firearms out of the hands of responsible, law abiding citizens, the better. I'm sure they are behind the murders.

I just constantly find myself wondering what happened to the people of this country? When did we get so soft that we stopped caring? My grandfathers - dating back to pre-Revolution Virginia and Pennsylvania right up to my dad and me - always owned guns that today would be considered "arsenals" by the weenies in the media. Many of them lived by their guns. It's just awful that a mayor in this country can talk about moratoriums on gun permits and not be burned in effigy.
We're turning into English pansies.

Those ducks can be nasty. You obviously have never had the near death experience of being billed to the point of unconsciousness by a flock of blue winged teal's!

Yep, their police force is being kept busy arresting street preachers, it's up to the public to handle murders. One must have the correct priorities.

Yep, their police force is being kept busy arresting street preachers,... Only half the force.
While the other half is off the beat and in "sensitivity training".
