Terri's attending physician has not disappeared.
He is the current president of Florida Medical Directors Association www.fmda.org

Apparently, Dr Gambone knew Terri better than ANY other doctor from 1998 thru most of 2003, and GREER threw out or ignored his testimony because Gambone did not report what Greer/Felos/Michael wanted to hear...
Gambone apparently is one of the two doctors certifying Terri was terminally ill, and had less than 6 months to live in april 2000. However, Gambone never signed the statement transcribed on his behalf for Terri's hospice certificate, making it illegal for her to be sent there.
Dr. Gambone reportedly worked for George Felos at that hospice before Felos resigned.
HERE IS WHAT UCANSEE2 posted on the NIGHTLINE thread (emphasis added by me)...
First I want to apologize, to other posters and to Dr. Gambone.
He is not thebad guy, the key, nor a paid crime doc.
Dr. Gambone stated Terri was aware, was not PVS. Gambone was her personal doctor.
Michael and FELOS got a document with an evaluation that Terri was PVS, with GAMBONE's name typed on it, but he never signed it.
The Judge stated he was ignoring Dr. Gambone's testimony and opinion's, even though he was Terri's personal doctor, and even though the Judge asked Dr. Gambone to do the evaluation.
The document is PHONY without a signature.
The JUDGE did pay attention to, and was MOST IMPRESSED with, and FOLLOWED THE EVALUATION of Dr. BabaDakis (spelling ???)
[Bambakidis]
Dr. Gambone resigned as Terri's doctor shortly thereafter. He may be in the FLA swamps in an alligator's belly for all I know. No one seems to have heard from him.
TerrisFight.org mentioned Gambone in this clip...
MYTH: Many doctors have said that there is no hope for her. FACT: Dr. Victor Gambone testified that he visits Terri 3 times a year. His visits last for approximately 10 minutes. He also testified, after viewing the court videotapes at Terris recent trial, that he was surprised to see Terris level of awareness. This doctor is part of a team hand-picked by her husband, Michael Schiavo, shortly before he filed to have Terris feeding removed. Contrary to Schiavos team, 14 independent medical professionals (6 of them neurologists) have given either statements or testimony that Terri is NOT in a Persistent Vegetative State. Additionally, there has never been any medical dispute of Terris ability to swallow. Even with this compelling evidence, Terris husband, Michael Schiavo, has denied any form of therapy for her for over 10 years.
Dr. Melvin Greer, appointed by Schiavo, testified that a doctor need not examine a patient to know the appropriate medical treatment. He spent approximately 45 minutes with Terri. Dr. Peter Bambakidis, appointed by Judge Greer, spent approximately 30 minutes with Terri. Dr. Ronald Cranford, also appointed by Schiavo and who has publicly labeled himself Dr. Death, spent less than 45 minutes examining and interacting with Terri.
Dr. Melvin Greer [HMMM, ANY RELATION?]
During a 2002 medical evidentiary hearing, Dr. Victor Gambone testified that he certified Terri as terminally ill so that she could be placed in Hospice Woodside. When questioned under oath why, he said
it was because Michael told him to do so.journals.aol.com/justice1949/JUSTICEFORTERRISCHIAVO/entries/333
and here are 4 articles at TEJ mentioning Dr. Gambone...

Wonder when Dr. Greer moved to Florida. Wonder if he's related to Judge Greer. Wonder how Michael Schaivo got Dr. Greer to testify in front of Judge Greer. Just wondering, too.

Thank you for finding the current info on Dr. Gambone. I also found that Dr. Gambone was asked why he even gave the PVS diagnosis for Terri, and he said, "Because Michael told me to."
I have heard of Michael's bullying, intimidation, etc.
Apparently he is able to intimidate even doctors.

Interesting that all the info on this certification form is typed EXEPT for the terminal diagnosis. It is hand written in: Vegetative State. Typed in is the life expectancy: less than 6 months. The referral was taken by Catherine Hodge, GS on 3/3/00.
As you say, Victor Gambone's name is typed in as Terri's attending physician, but he never did sign it.
Medical director (W?) Moore MD signed on 4/11/00 -- even without an acceptable terminal diagnosis given.
