I just looked at the C-span schedule for tomorrow--

at 12:00pm est on C-span 3, Robert KKK Byrd is scheduled to speak about Judicial Nominations--sponsered by Moveon.org!!!

Do you believe it? I guess I do, but my gosh, Byrd is the one that changed the rules to what the GOP wants now, but NOW the GOP shouldn't have the same rights as a majority that he had when he was the majority leader...

I hope we can get the transcipt for those of us that are C-span 3, challenged.....

Norm's alright. He ripped the UN and Kofi Annan a new one last month. It's Chaffe, Snow and Collins (aka New England nitwits) that really chap my hide.

Coleman has a pretty conservative record overall. This is the one thing that disappoints me. But he ran on voting no on this, and in greenie minnesota, in a close race with lots of dead voters (and candidates), he may well have needed that promise to win.

he kept one campaign promise i don't like, got in, & helped secure a majority. ya can't knock him for keeping a promise, and at the same time firm on tax cuts, defense, values, judges, etc.

I have been pondering what reply to send back to the RNC in reply to the 37th solicitation since the elections were over.

61 and still sweating filibusters!

I am still laughing. Sad, but true.

On the Norm thing you are witnessing the effect of a liberal state on its politicians. I bet you at least half the senators who would vote against ANWR know they are doing the wrong thing, that we need the oil. But they don't dare be "anti-environment" in their states.

The crazy thing is Alaska WANTS the drilling and people in other states ought to be glad the impact is elsewhere. Instead, the Northeast is going to make damn sure it doesn't get any oil from ANWR. No sir, we only want oil that pollutes Venezuela, the Middle East, Pennsylvania. It's all crazy.

"This administration doesn't want to play by the rules," said Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.). "They don't have the votes to be able to do it one way, so they're going to break up the system, write their own rules and try to do it another way."' ....

You mean like Democrats not having the votes to block Bush's judge nominees in a floor vote and thus resorting to a never used filibuster to block judges from being confirmed?

twisting the rules, stating untruths as facts, sneering at the majority of voting citizens...what gall.

Coleman made a campaign promise to not support drilling.

Sorry folks. Cannot demand politicians keep their word, than ask they betray their constituents because it inconveniences us. This is one vote that cannot be hanged around his neck as call to abandon him.

I just hope we have the votes without him.

the drilling will damage an environmentally sensitive area.

Yeh right. I walked out on a football field and dug a small hole and planted a peach seed near the 10 yard line. That football field is "damaged".

Does anyone know the tourisr stats for ANWR? Is there hotels ringing the area so all these people in love with this pristine diamond can vacation there? Is this like not wanting windmills in their backyards?

Those that visit ANWR, and those that visit the coastal plain, are not the same people.

The lush coastal plain as seen in the Spring:
